Disclosure: myjobb.ai publishes this guide and includes its own product. We describe every tool from its own website and documentation (checked October 2026) and say where myjobb is not the best fit.
Quick answer: A bot to fill job applications and screening questions reads your profile, fills each form and answers questions like current CTC, notice period and relocation. Good bots answer only what they know and ask you when unsure. In India, myjobb.ai does this on Naukri, Foundit, Instahyre, Hirist, IIM Jobs and Greenhouse, Ashby and Workday career pages.
Key takeaways
- One wrong answer to a knockout question, such as work authorisation or minimum experience, can reject you before a recruiter reads your resume.
- Of the 8 tools, Jobright Autofill, Retriever AI and Simplify's free Copilot leave the submit click to you.
- Only three document what happens when they can't answer: JobsAICopilot skips or notifies you, Retriever AI leaves the field blank, and myjobb.ai asks you on WhatsApp or by email.
- In the docs we checked, no other tool explains Indian fields such as CTC in LPA or notice period. myjobb.ai answers them from your profile.
- As of October 2026, myjobb.ai's first 20 applications are free, then ₹999/month for 350. FastApply's India plans start at ₹599/month.

What is a bot to fill job applications and screening questions?
A job application bot is software that fills online application forms from your resume and profile. Autofill bots fill the fields and leave the submit click to you. Auto-apply agents also submit and track the application.
A screening question is anything the employer asks beyond your resume, such as current CTC or notice period. A knockout question is one where a single answer can filter you out automatically, such as "Do you have 5+ years of Java?" or "Are you authorised to work in the UK?".
Indian forms add fields that most global bots don't plan for:
- Current and expected CTC, usually in lakhs per annum (LPA)
- Notice period as a dropdown (immediate to 90 days), plus "currently serving notice?"
- Current location and willingness to relocate
- Total and relevant experience, degree and graduation year
The real test of a screening-question bot is whether it answers these truthfully, in the form's format, and asks you when it doesn't know.

How we compared the tools
We read each tool's product pages, help articles, FAQs and pricing in October 2026 and recorded seven things: field filling, knockout questions, free text, the fallback when unsure, submission, Indian fields and price. We haven't run applications through these tools for this version, so nothing here is a measured accuracy score.
Here is a 30-question screening test you can run on any bot with a dummy profile:
- Compensation. Examples (illustrative): Current CTC in LPA; expected CTC; variable pay · A pass means: Right unit and number, or asks you
- Notice and joining. Examples (illustrative): Notice period; serving notice?; last working day · A pass means: Matches your profile and the dropdown
- Location. Examples (illustrative): Current city; relocate to Pune?; office days · A pass means: Truthful to your preferences
- Experience. Examples (illustrative): Total years; years in Java; Kafka in production? · A pass means: No over- or under-claiming
- Eligibility knockouts. Examples (illustrative): Work authorisation; degree; graduation year; bond · A pass means: Exact truth, or asks you
- Free text. Examples (illustrative): Why this role?; describe a project · A pass means: Specific, no invented facts
Score each answer as correct, asked, skipped or wrong. One wrong knockout answer is a fail.
Changelog: 24 October 2026, first published; competitor details checked October 2026.
How does a bot answer screening questions?
A well-built bot answers in five layers, most reliable first:
- Profile lookup: facts you've stated, such as CTC, notice period, locations, years per skill and work authorisation, used as written.
- Rules: fixed mappings to the form's format, such as 60 days to the "60 days" option, or ₹14,00,000 to "14" in an LPA box.
- Memory: answers you've approved before. Simplify's Copilot reuses saved answers; Ganesh Raj K's DIY tutorial on Medium matches similar questions at a 90% fuzzy-match threshold.
- LLM drafting: free-text answers drafted from your resume and the job description.
- Confidence gate: if the match is weak, stop and ask you instead of guessing.
myjobb.ai follows this order: your profile, then answers you've given before, then AI only above a confidence threshold. When it isn't sure, it asks you on WhatsApp or by email. Before you pay for any auto-apply bot, ask the vendor to show you layer 5.

- Automates: filling and submitting through your own session with your default resume, and screening answers from your profile. The AI resume builder tailors a resume to any job you pick.

2. JobCopilot

- Automates: you fill screening questions once at setup; it tailors answers per job and learns from your edits.
- Doesn't: document a fallback for unanswerable questions, or any Indian portals.
- Price: Premium $0.93/day, Elite $1.05/day.
- Verdict: strong for global career pages; use its review option at first.
3. JobsAICopilot
- Best for: approving every application; Review Mode is on by default.

- Verdict: the clearest documented fallback among the global tools.
4. Simplify (Copilot and Autopilot)
- Best for: free autofill on US ATS forms you'll review.

- Best for: one-click autofill on US ATS forms.

Also cited: LoopCV, Careerflow (assisted autofill) and LazyApply (US and Canada only).
I want to build a job application automation: should you build your own bot?
You can, but the hard part is screening questions and Indian portals, not text boxes. What the public docs tell a builder:
- Greenhouse: its Job Board API lets anyone read open jobs without authentication, but submitting needs the employer's API key, and Greenhouse doesn't validate required fields for you.
- Lever: its postings API README limits application submissions to about 2 per second.
- Indian portals: Naukri, Foundit and Instahyre publish no candidate apply API that we know of, so a DIY bot must drive the logged-in site, OTPs included.
- LinkedIn: the best-known DIY tutorial (Medium, October 2024) targets Easy Apply, which LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits automating.
If you build, keep a profile store, log each answer's source, add a confidence gate, pause for OTPs and CAPTCHAs, and respect daily limits.
How myjobb.ai answers screening questions
myjobb.ai is an AI job agent for job seekers in India. It finds jobs that match your resume, applies for you on Indian job portals and company career sites, builds a tailored resume for any job you pick, finds people who can refer you, emails recruiters and hiring managers from your own inbox, and follows up. You see everything it does in an activity log, and with WhatsApp connected you get a message for each application sent.
Day 1 looks like this:
- Connect portals with the Chrome extension. Sessions are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and revocable any time.
- Fill your screening profile once: CTC, notice period, locations, relocation, experience, work authorisation.
- Review matches, each with a match % and reasons such as skill overlap and seniority.
- Let it apply with your default resume, through your session or the company's Greenhouse, Ashby or Workday page.
- Answer only what it asks. When it isn't sure, it asks you on WhatsApp or by email. For OTPs it pauses and asks.
- Check the activity log. With WhatsApp connected, you also get a message for each application sent. "Submitted" means the portal confirmed it.
It paces itself with randomised 2 to 6 second pauses, a 20-minute back-off when a site pushes back, and each portal's daily limits. 1M+ job seekers have used myjobb, and it has processed 400K+ applications. See how auto apply to jobs works, or how it handles auto apply on Workday, Greenhouse and Ashby career sites.
Limits: no LinkedIn Easy Apply, though it applies to many LinkedIn-listed roles on the employer's career page. Some assessments need you. No guarantee of interviews.
Cost against time: ₹999 for 350 applications is about ₹2.85 each. Example: at 6 minutes per form, 100 applications take 10 hours by hand.

Wrong answers disqualify you: risks, limits and how to stay safe
The biggest risk isn't a ban. It's a confident wrong answer that rejects you silently.
- Wrong knockout answer. What goes wrong: A guessed "No" rejects you before a human looks · How to reduce it: Put every eligibility fact in your profile first
- Over-claiming. What goes wrong: A guessed "Yes" gets you an interview you can't defend · How to reduce it: Store years per skill; avoid tools that invent
- Format errors. What goes wrong: Rupees in an LPA box, wrong notice option · How to reduce it: Check your first 10 applications in the log
- Portal account safety. What goes wrong: Bursts look automated · How to reduce it: Naukri caps applications at 50 a day, per its FAQ as cited by FastApply
- LinkedIn automation. What goes wrong: Its User Agreement prohibits automated tools · How to reduce it: Apply on the employer's career page instead
- Credential privacy. What goes wrong: Passwords stored in plain text · How to reduce it: Prefer encrypted, revocable sessions
FAQ
Is there a free bot to fill job applications and screening questions?
Yes, with limits. Simplify's Copilot autofill is free, though AI-written answers need Simplify+. Jobright Autofill is free to start, and Retriever AI has a Free Mode with a daily allowance. These usually leave the submit click to you. myjobb.ai gives your first 20 applications free, one time and with no card.
Is it safe to use a bot to fill job applications and screening questions on Naukri?
It can be, if the bot paces itself and stays under Naukri's limits. Naukri caps applications at 50 per day, according to its FAQ as cited by FastApply. myjobb.ai applies through your own session, pauses between steps, backs off when the site pushes back, and asks you for OTPs. No tool can promise zero risk.
Can a bot answer CTC and notice-period questions correctly?
Yes, if those facts are in your profile and the bot matches the form's format, such as 60 days to a "60 days" dropdown or ₹14,00,000 to 14 LPA. Most global tools don't document Indian fields. myjobb.ai answers CTC, notice period, relocation and experience from your profile, and asks you when a field isn't covered.
What happens when a bot can't answer a screening question?
It depends on the tool. JobsAICopilot skips the job or notifies you for detailed forms. Retriever AI leaves unknown fields, such as work authorisation, blank. myjobb.ai asks you on WhatsApp or by email before it continues. JobCopilot and AIApply don't document a fallback, so ask them before you pay.
Can a bot answer knockout questions without disqualifying me?
Only if it answers truthfully from facts you've given it. A knockout question, such as minimum years in a language or work authorisation, can filter you out on one answer. Guessing "Yes" risks misrepresentation; guessing "No" loses jobs you qualify for. Pick a bot that asks when unsure, and check its first ten answers.
What is the best auto apply tool for software engineers?
For engineers in India, pick a tool that covers Indian tech boards and the ATS career pages product companies use. myjobb.ai covers Instahyre, Hirist and Naukri plus Greenhouse, Ashby and Workday, and its resume builder tailors a resume to any job you pick. For US roles, Simplify and Jobright autofill Greenhouse, Lever and Workday forms and are free to start.
I want to build a job application automation. Where should I start?
Start with job discovery from public endpoints such as Greenhouse's Job Board API, which needs no key to read jobs. Add form filling with Playwright or Selenium, a profile store for screening answers, and a confidence gate that pauses for you. Don't automate LinkedIn Easy Apply, and never try to bypass CAPTCHAs.
Does myjobb.ai auto-apply on LinkedIn?
No. myjobb.ai doesn't automate LinkedIn Easy Apply, because LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits automation. For jobs you find on LinkedIn, it applies through the company's own career page on Greenhouse, Ashby or Workday when the role is listed there. It doesn't log in to LinkedIn or send LinkedIn messages.
Bottom line
The right bot to fill job applications and screening questions tells the truth on knockout questions and asks you when it isn't sure. For US ATS forms you'll review yourself, try Simplify or Jobright. For global career pages, look at JobCopilot or JobsAICopilot. For Indian portals plus Greenhouse, Ashby and Workday, with CTC and notice period answered from your profile, start with myjobb.ai.
