    About this role

    Role: Salesforce Technical Business Analyst

Management Level: Senior Associate / Manager, based on experience

    Experience: 6 - 10 years

    Location: Bangalore

    Role Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a technical background in Salesforce and experience translating business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation-ready requirements. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, Salesforce developers, administrators, QA teams, and project leadership to deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions.

Candidates who have transitioned from Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Developer, or Salesforce QA roles into Business Analysis - or who have performed BA responsibilities alongside their technical roles - are strongly preferred.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and client teams to understand business needs, processes, and functional requirements.

    - Conduct requirement-gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs.

    - Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and Salesforce automation.

    - Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and clear implementation requirements.

    - Prepare as-is and to-be process flows, functional documentation, and requirement traceability matrices.

    - Identify requirement gaps, dependencies, assumptions, risks, and potential impacts on existing Salesforce functionality.

    Salesforce Technical Analysis:

    - Apply hands-on knowledge of Salesforce configuration, data models, standard and custom objects, relationships, record types, page layouts, and Lightning Record Pages.

    - Understand Salesforce Sales Cloud end-to-end processes, including lead management, account and contact management, opportunity management, pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

    - Analyse Salesforce automation using Flows, validation rules, approval processes, and other declarative capabilities.

    - Understand Salesforce security concepts, including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchies, sharing rules, and organization-wide defaults.

    - Work closely with technical teams to evaluate solution options and identify the appropriate use of standard Salesforce functionality versus custom development.

    - Understand the functional impact of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), APIs, integrations, and data model changes.

    - Assess upstream and downstream dependencies and perform impact analysis for enhancements, releases, and production fixes.

Collaboration with Development & QA Teams:

    - Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and Salesforce development and QA teams.

    - Clarify requirements and resolve functional queries raised during solution design, development, and testing.

    - Review technical solutions and provide feedback to ensure alignment with business requirements.

    - Collaborate with QA teams to define test scope, review test scenarios, validate test coverage, and ensure requirements are testable.

    - Participate in defect triage, root-cause discussions, issue prioritization, and resolution tracking.

    - Support functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

    - Conduct client demonstrations during UAT and release cycles and obtain stakeholder feedback.

    Agile Delivery & Release Management:

    - Manage and refine the Salesforce product backlog, including story grooming, prioritization, estimation support, and sprint readiness.

    - Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and release documentation.

    - Work with Azure DevOps or similar tools for backlog management, work-item tracking, defect management, and release coordination.

    - Coordinate with development, QA, administration, and support teams to ensure timely implementation of features and fixes.

    - Support minor and major releases, hotfixes, production validation, and post-release stabilization.

    - Communicate release changes, dependencies, risks, and Salesforce platform updates to relevant stakeholders.

    Data Migration, Integrations & Documentation:

    - Support Salesforce data migration and data quality activities involving Salesforce and SAP or other ERP/CRM systems.

    - Analyse source-to-target mappings, data transformation rules, reconciliation requirements, and data validation scenarios.

    - Work with technical teams to understand API integrations, data flows, system dependencies, and integration-related business requirements.

    - Maintain functional documentation, process flows, user guides, training materials, and release notes.

    - Support user queries and coordinate with Salesforce administration or support teams to resolve functional issues.

    Stakeholder & GCC Engagement Management:

    - Coordinate with distributed business and technology teams across geographies and time zones.

    - Build effective working relationships with client stakeholders, product owners, program managers, developers, administrators, and QA teams.

    - Facilitate cross-workstream discussions and ensure alignment on requirements, dependencies, and delivery priorities.

    - Prepare weekly status reports, RAID updates, meeting notes, and stakeholder communication materials.

    - Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce rework, minimize defects, and improve release quality.

    - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of Salesforce industry best practices.

    Mandatory Skills & Experience:

    - 5 - 10 years of overall IT experience, with substantial hands-on experience in the Salesforce ecosystem.

    - Prior experience as a Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Developer, Salesforce QA Engineer, or Salesforce Technical Consultant.

    - Experience performing Technical Business Analyst responsibilities, including requirement gathering, functional analysis, user story creation, and stakeholder management.

    - Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud configuration and end-to-end business processes.

    - Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria.

    - Understanding of Salesforce objects, data models, automation, security, reports, dashboards, and platform capabilities.

    - Experience working with development and QA teams through implementation, testing, defect resolution, and release cycles.

    - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.

    - Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    - Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer I, App Builder, or relevant Salesforce certifications.

    - Exposure to Salesforce Apex, Lightning Web Components, REST/SOAP APIs, and enterprise integrations.

    - Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or other Salesforce clouds.

    - Experience supporting data migration, integration testing, UAT, and production releases.

    - Exposure to test case design, regression testing, defect lifecycle management, and requirements traceability.

    - Experience working with global teams or in a Global Capability Centre (GCC) environment.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    - The ideal candidate is a techno-functional Salesforce professional who understands how Salesforce works at a configuration and technical level and can convert business needs into clear, implementable requirements.

    - Candidates who started their careers as Salesforce Administrators, Developers, or QA Engineers and subsequently moved into Technical Business Analysis are preferred. They should be comfortable discussing Salesforce functionality with business users and technical implementation details with developers and QA teams.

    - This is a Technical BA role, not a pure development, administration, or manual testing position. The candidate must demonstrate strong requirement analysis and communication skills alongside practical Salesforce knowledge.
