Project Civil Engineer - Structure & Erection

Role & responsibilities:

• Execute and monitor all civil construction activities including foundations, pedestals, roads.
• Review civil drawings, BOQs, and specifications for project execution.
• Coordinate with contractors for manpower, materials, machinery, and resources.
• Ensure project activities are completed as per approved schedules.
• Identify construction bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise erection of structural steel works including pipe racks, equipment structures, platforms, sheds, staircases, ladders, and support structures.
• Review structural GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection plans.
• Verify alignment, plumbness, levels, and dimensions during erection.
• Coordinate lifting and installation activities using cranes and other equipment.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process departments for smooth project execution.
• Ensure civil and structural readiness for equipment installation activities.
• Attend project review meetings and provide construction progress updates.
• Resolve technical issues and contractor queries.
• Enforce site safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure safe working practices during excavation, concreting, lifting, and work-at-height activities.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety audits.
• Monitor contractor compliance with EHS requirements and permit systems.

Ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings and project specifications

• Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and work quality.
• Verify contractor measurements and certify bills.
• Track resource deployment and project milestones.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Track project schedules and milestones.
• Monitor project quantities and cost impact of scope changes.
• Assist in preparation of project MIS and management presentations.

B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 4-6 years of experience in industrial project construction, structural steel erection, and site execution.
