Production Planning & Control - Dy Manager/ Manager Power Transformer

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily production plans.
• Develop detailed production schedules for all manufacturing departments.
• Ensure production plans meet customer delivery commitments.
• Monitor production progress and update schedules based on actual performance.
• Balance production loading across manufacturing facilities.

2. Capacity Planning & Resource Management

• Analyze manufacturing capacity and optimize utilization of manpower, machines, and facilities.
• Prepare machine loading plans for all production areas.
• Coordinate production priorities with manufacturing teams.
• Optimize utilization of critical equipment including VPD, VDP, winding machines, ovens, testing bays, and EOT cranes.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

3. Material Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with Purchase, SCM, and Stores for timely availability of production materials.
• Monitor material shortages and expedite critical items.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to support production.
• Coordinate engineering changes affecting material requirements.
• Monitor long lead-time materials and ensure timely procurement.

4. Production Monitoring & MIS

• Monitor daily production against planned schedules.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Analyze production variances and initiate corrective actions.
• Present production status and KPIs to management.
• Maintain production dashboards and planning reports.

5. Cross Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Design, Purchase, SCM, Production, Quality, Testing, Dispatch, and Project teams.
• Ensure smooth flow of information across departments.
• Support customer priority orders and special manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in production review meetings.
• Coordinate new product introductions and engineering change implementation.

6. Continuous Improvement

• Improve production planning accuracy and schedule adherence.
• Reduce manufacturing lead time and work-in-process inventory.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Improve ERP planning accuracy and process standardization.
• Support digital manufacturing and planning automation initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

To lead and manage Production Planning & Control (PPC) activities for Distribution Transformers, Solar (Inverter Duty) Transformers, and Power Transformers up to 100 MVA, 220 kV Class. The role is responsible for developing integrated production plans, optimizing manufacturing resources, ensuring timely material availability, monitoring production progress, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve on-time customer deliveries with optimum plant utilization.

The position requires extensive experience in transformer manufacturing, production scheduling, capacity planning, ERP-based production control, and manufacturing process coordination.
