General Manager Operations

Role:-

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven, and dynamic General Manager Operations who will own the end-to-end logistics distribution & transportation network.

The ideal candidate will balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational excellence—ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, freight costs are optimized, safety standards are strictly adhered to, and a high-performing leadership culture is cultivated.

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Direct and oversee all logistics, transportation & fleet operations, across multiple locations.
• Design and execute the long-term logistics strategy to support company growth, scalability, and market competitiveness.
• Oversee day-to-day network performance, eliminating bottlenecks, resolving escalations, and driving continuous improvement in turnaround times.

2. Financial & Budgetary Management

• Own the annual operational and capital expenditure budgets for the logistics and transportation department.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining customer delivery expectations.
• Monitor freight rates on regular basis to ensure strict financial alignment.

3. Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead a team of logistics and transport managers, fostering an environment of accountability and continuous growth.
• Partner with Human Resources to design optimal workforce structures, manage planning and implement training and retention frameworks.

4. Performance Metrics (KPIs) & Technology

• Define, track, and report key performance indicators such as On-Time deliverables, freight rates, expansion of vendor network, In-transit inventory accuracy, and real time vehicle tracking.
• Leverage advanced supply chain technologies to improve real-time visibility and data-driven decision-making.
• Maintain total transportation expenditures at or below budgeted percentages.
• Achieve consistent On-Time delivery metrics & 100% Vehicle deployment on regular basis.
• Maintain optimal owned and hired vehicle/fleet utilization.
• Well versed with Statutory Compliance, MIS, & real time updates.
