Job Purpose

Responsible for field service operations, installations and commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and performance monitoring of BESS battery systems. The role involves remote diagnosis through BMS/EMS and cloud platforms, onsite service and repair of battery packs, preliminary failure analysis, and ensuring timely resolution of customer complaints in accordance with defined TAT and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage field service operations for BESS and Battery Energy Storage Systems across the assigned region.
• Perform remote/virtual troubleshooting and diagnostics of BMS, EMS, PCS/inverter and associated battery-system issues.
• Conduct daily online performance monitoring of deployed BESS systems through cloud-based monitoring platforms and identify abnormalities, alarms and performance deviations.
• Carry out onsite troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and replacement of battery packs, BMS components and associated electrical systems.
• Execute commissioning and installation support for BESS battery packs, including system checks, parameter verification and functional validation.
• Ensure all service activities are completed within the defined TAT/SLA and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Generate and submit daily Service Orders / Service Reports, documenting activities performed, observations, parts replaced and system status.
• Conduct preliminary RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for battery failures, field complaints and abnormal system behaviour, and coordinate with Engineering/Quality teams for detailed analysis where required.
• Analyse BMS logs, alarms, event history, voltage, temperature, SOC/SOH and other battery parameters to support effective troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with customers, service partners, internal technical teams and other stakeholders for timely closure of field issues.
• Maintain accurate records of service history, battery health, failure data, replacements and corrective actions.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region and, when required, to other regions for commissioning, breakdown support and critical customer issues.
• Follow all defined safety procedures, electrical safety practices, service SOPs and technical guidelines while working on BESS systems.
• Provide field feedback to Engineering, Quality and Product teams for product improvement and recurring issue elimination.

Key Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Lithium-ion Battery Systems, BMS, EMS and BESS architecture.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and electrical/electronic diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret BMS/EMS data, alarms, logs and battery parameters.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to RCA.
• Strong customer-handling and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in the field and travel extensively.
• Ability to work independently under defined TAT/SLA and service targets.
