About this role
Cloud Engineer
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat (onsite) • Shift: Day shift, IST • Experience: 5+ years • Reports to: Senior Cloud &
Security Engineer • CTC: [confirm band before posting]
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer to operate, automate and improve the Azure infrastructure behind
our enterprise B2B SaaS products. Our platform runs production APIs, background services and containerised
applications that must be secure, reliable and easy to release.
This is an application-platform role with a strong AKS focus. We need experience supporting production SaaS or
comparable cloud-native software platforms not primarily administering Azure VMs, App Services or internal IT
systems. Experience in our specific business domain is not required.
You will work with Product Engineers and the Senior Cloud & Security Engineer, take ownership of assigned
infrastructure work, and follow disciplined processes for changes, incidents, documentation and recovery.
What youll do
¢
¢
¢
¢
¢
¢
¢
AKS & Kubernetes operate production AKS workloads: deployments, Helm, ingress, load balancing,
scaling, node pools, upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting
Azure infrastructure provision, maintain and troubleshoot cloud resources across production and non-
production environments under established platform standards
Networking support VNets, DNS, Application Gateway, routing, network security rules, private endpoints,
certificates and secure application connectivity
CI/CD & releases maintain application deployment pipelines, environment configuration, secrets,
deployment checks and reliable rollback procedures
Observability & incidents maintain metrics, logs, dashboards, alerts and health checks; investigate
production incidents and help remove recurring causes
Cloud security implement RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, encryption, secure network access,
patching and vulnerability remediation
Data & managed services support Azure Storage, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, backups and availability;
operate VMs or serverless services where appropriate
Automation use Terraform or Bicep, Azure CLI and scripting to make infrastructure setup and operations
repeatable and reviewable
AI services deploy and operate Azure AI Foundry / OpenAI models, Document Intelligence, AI Search and
related AI infrastructure
¢
¢
AI operations manage AI service security, networking, quotas, availability, monitoring and costs
Cloud cost management monitor and optimise AKS, database, storage, AI model usage and search
capacity costs without compromising reliability
¢
¢
Operational discipline follow change control, deployment checklists, runbooks, incident notes, recovery
steps, naming, tagging and configuration standards
Collaboration & ownership work directly with Product Engineers, communicate risks early, and carry
assigned work through validation, deployment and stable production operation

What you need
¢
¢
¢
¢
¢
¢
¢
5+ years of relevant cloud, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering experience, including real production
application infrastructure work for SaaS or comparable cloud-native software platforms
Strong hands-on AKS/Kubernetes experience running production applications deployments, ingress,
services, scaling, cluster operations and troubleshooting. Lab-only experience is not sufficient.
Practical Microsoft Azure skills, especially infrastructure supporting containerised APIs, services and
application deployments
Deep Azure networking knowledge DNS, load balancing, private and public connectivity, certificates,
network security
Hands-on CI/CD, Docker, deployment automation and environment management working with application
development teams
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and scripting comfortable making repeatable changes through
reviewed configuration rather than manual portal work
Ability to diagnose production problems using application and infrastructure logs, metrics, alerts and
structured troubleshooting
¢
¢
Sound fundamentals in identity, RBAC, secrets, encryption, backups and secure cloud configuration
Familiarity with cloud storage, database connectivity, caching and availability. Specialist DBA expertise is not
required.
¢
¢
¢
¢
Experience operating Azure AI Foundry / OpenAI model deployments and endpoints
Familiarity with Document Intelligence, AI Search, OCR, embeddings and secure AI integrations
Ability to troubleshoot AI service availability, latency, quota, security and cost issues
Methodical execution planning changes, checking impact, documenting work, following established
processes, owning issues through resolution
¢
Clear, concise communication; raises blockers early, coordinates during incidents, accepts accountability for
assigned outcomes
Nice to have
¢
¢
Multi-tenant SaaS platform experience, particularly where tenant isolation mattered
Exposure to a regulated environment HIPAA, SOC 2 or similar where change control and evidence were
required
¢
Experience reducing cloud spend measurably rather than only reporting it
What sets strong candidates apart
¢
You have been on call for a production platform and can describe an incident you diagnosed rather than
escalated.
¢
¢
¢
You automate instead of repeating. Your infrastructure changes go through reviewed code, not the portal.
You treat cost as an engineering constraint. You have found waste and removed it.
You follow a problem to a verified outcome rather than to a closed ticket.
How we work
Cloud Engineering is part of Product Engineering, not a separate corporate IT support function. The Senior Cloud
& Security Engineer sets architecture, security, compliance and cost standards; Cloud Engineers implement,
operate and improve the platform within those standards.
We value practical problem-solving, dependable execution, documented decisions, and process that prevents
avoidable failures. Ownership means following a problem through to a verified outcome, not just completing a
task.
What we offer
Day shift, no night rotation • fixed weekly offs • medical insurance • a real production SaaS platform rather than
internal IT • AKS, AI infrastructure and IaC work with a senior engineer to learn from • a defined path toward Senior
Cloud & Security Engineer.
About us
EmpClaims is a US healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) company that helps physician practices, urgent
care centres, and healthcare facilities across the United States get paid accurately and on time for the care they
provide. The company was founded in Illinois in 2008 and has run its India operations from Ahmedabad since 2009.
That gives it more than 15 years of experience in medical billing and coding, accounts receivable, payment posting,
and credentialing.
When you join EmpClaims, you build real expertise in US healthcare. We invest in structured training, buddy-
supported onboarding, and clear career progression across AR, Billing, Payment Posting, Coding, and Credentialing.
Our Product and Engineering team builds the software behind all of it. It is a deliberately small, ownership-heavy
group building an AI-native platform used by our own operations teams and by client practices across the US
which means engineers and product people here work directly with the domain experts who use what they build,
see their work reach production quickly, and are expected to understand the revenue-cycle problem they are
solving rather than just the ticket in front of them.
