Associate Manager DevOps

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Associate Manager DevOps to lead day-to-day DevOps delivery, manage engineering teams, and remain technically engaged in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and operational excellence. The role translates engineering strategy into reliable execution across multiple applications and environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team & Delivery Management

Manage and mentor DevOps engineers; allocate work, review progress, support skill development, and ensure delivery commitments are met.

Own day-to-day DevOps operations, ticket prioritization, escalations, and coordination with development, QA, security, and client-facing teams.

Establish operating procedures, runbooks, shift/coverage plans, and knowledge-transfer practices.

Track delivery risks, dependencies, resource needs, and service-level commitments; communicate status to stakeholders.

CI/CD, Release & Environment Management

Oversee design, maintenance, and standardization of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.

Ensure controlled releases across development, QA, UAT, staging, and production, including approvals, rollback plans, and release documentation.

Manage build and artifact workflows using Git, GitHub Enterprise, Nexus Repository, and related tooling.

Drive automation of repetitive deployment, configuration, and support tasks.

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

Oversee AWS and Azure infrastructure provisioning, configuration, patching, access controls, and operational readiness.

Review Terraform/Terragrunt or equivalent IaC changes and promote reusable, governed modules.

Coordinate networking, DNS, load balancing, backup, disaster recovery, capacity, and cost optimization activities.

Support hybrid cloud and on-premises integrations and ensure environment segregation and consistency.

DevSecOps, Reliability & Governance

Ensure security controls are integrated into CI/CD and infrastructure workflows, including dependency and code scanning.

Oversee secrets management using Vault, Azure Key Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager and ensure least-privilege access.

Monitor service health, incident trends, vulnerability remediation, and operational KPIs.

Lead major incident coordination, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive improvements.

Platform & Automation Enablement

Guide Kubernetes/container operations, deployment patterns, and platform standardization.

Promote self-service automation, reusable pipeline templates, infrastructure modules, and operational dashboards.

Evaluate tooling and process improvements based on business needs, security, maintainability, and cost.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Typically 1216 years of IT experience, including substantial DevOps/cloud engineering and team leadership; exact range may be adjusted to role scope.

Hands-on understanding of AWS, Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, scripting, and monitoring.

Experience leading teams, managing operational support and releases, handling escalations, and communicating with stakeholders.

Strong understanding of Windows Server/Linux, networking, secrets management, security scanning, and production support.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in enterprise application delivery, multi-client environments, platform engineering/IDP, and cloud governance.

Relevant cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, or IT service management certifications.
