We weren’t ready to ship the MVP.

As I write this blog, our product myjobb AI is live, growing fast, and already being loved by thousands daily. But that wasn’t the plan. Or at least, not this soon.

So, why am I writing this?

Because myjobb AI is special in every sense, not just as a product, but as an idea, a belief system, a fight we chose. I want to document this journey, for you, our users, and for myself. The highs, the failures, the breakthroughs. The raw, behind the scenes truth of building something that genuinely helps people.💚

120 Days, 3 Missed Deadlines, and One Last Shot

We had been building for over 120 days. Add 3 more months of research before that. The product was ambitious. Harder than we imagined. The roadmap was messy, deadlines slipped, and runway shrinking. The team’s morale was low, really low. And the promises I once made to them? They started to feel like hollow hopes.

And you know what they say: “ Never take someone’s hope away.”

Yet, with whatever last ounce of energy we had, we launched a closed, invite-only beta, Just 80 users.

And something magical happened.✨

They told us they felt seen, felt considered and felt personal, that job search finally made sense. Yes, the product had bugs, but there was light at the end of our tunnel. A flicker of product-market resonance, our wild hypothesis was turning into reality.

Then Came The Real Test

That dopamine rush didn’t last long. Our users demanded a simple but game-changing feature:

“Can I filter jobs by Salary and Location?”

Sounds easy. It’s what every jobseeker wants. But it was a technical monster, because at myjobb AI, we don’t just filter jobs. We match them.

Our recommendation engine already considered your Resume, Domain, Title, Skills, and Work Experience. Now adding Salary and Location meant two more deeply personal, variable-first parameters and it wasn’t a simple plug-in. It meant rethinking our entire recommendation architecture.

What if someone prioritised salary over everything? Or location? Or both? What if it changed every day?

That’s when we reminded ourselves this is why we exist. Not to build the most viral product, but the most human one. Not to stand in front of the user, but beside them as their copilot.🤝

Introducing Priorities as a feature: Our Turning Point

We spent 7 days on the whiteboard, out of that chaos, we built a system called "Priorities" a dynamic feature that lets users toggle between what matters to them: Salary and/or Location.

Change your preferences anytime, as many times as you want, and the job recommendations would adjust in real-time.

The beta users loved it. We knew we’d unlocked something deep their trust. ✅

31st May 2025 – The Launch

But we still weren’t done, after back-to-back 36 hours of execution, we finally shipped myjobb AI Copilot, your personal job search buddy that finds hyper-relevant jobs in seconds.

We were exhausted, satisfied, and scared all at the same time, because we had no big launch, no media coverage, no PR agency. Just a waitlist (that hit its limit in 3 days) and a few raw LinkedIn posts. That’s it.

And Then, The Internet Showed Up 🌍

To our surprise, we crossed 1,000+ users in 5 days. Even better, 72% weekly retention in the first week. The best part? Users didn’t just use myjobb AI, they shared it with their friends. On average, 2 referrals per user.

That’s when we knew, we’d nailed problem-solution fit. People don’t need another job board. They need something that understands them. We did it.

myjobb AI is now a name in job-tech. Not because we had investors or ads, but because we believed in building with and for the user. We are jobseekers at heart, and we’re here to change how India and the world finds jobs.
