Zonal Manager - Debt Management - Consumer Finance

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for leading and managing the Consumer Finance Debt Management within the designated zone, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding loan amounts while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Leveraging your extensive experience in debt management, you will develop and implement strategies to optimize debt management performance, minimize delinquencies, and mitigate credit risk.

Your leadership and strategic oversight will be instrumental in achieving debt management targets, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the organization's overall financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement strategic debt management plans and initiatives to maximize recovery of overdue loan amounts while minimizing losses and delinquencies.

- Set clear debt management targets and performance goals for the zone, monitor performance against targets, and take proactive measures to address deviations and optimize results.

- Provide leadership, direction, and support to the debt management team, including debt management officers, supervisors, and support staff, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

- Conduct regular analysis of loan portfolios to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern, and develop targeted strategies to address delinquencies and mitigate credit risk.

- Develop and implement customer-centric debt management approaches that prioritize customer experience while achieving Debt management targets, fostering positive relationships and promoting loyalty.

- Continuously review and improve debt management processes, workflows, and procedures to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing debt management activities, maintaining a strong culture of compliance within the team.

- Manage relationships with external debt management agencies and vendors, ensuring effective performance management, adherence to service level agreements, and alignment with organizational standards.

- Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track debt management performance, analyze key metrics, and generate regular reports for senior management, identifying areas for improvement and recommending actionable insights.

- Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to debt management team members to enhance their skills, knowledge and performance.

Job Requirements:

- MBA Graduate.

- 15 - 18 years of progressive experience in debt management, with a focus on consumer or retail products.

- Demonstrated track record of success in achieving debt management targets, reducing delinquencies, and managing credit risk in a financial services environment.

- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.

- Thorough understanding of debt management processes, regulations, and best practices, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and ethics.
