About Savings Account Business
The Savings Account Product team builds and manages propositions across customer segments, with accountability for product strategy, portfolio growth, pricing, customer experience and regulatory governance. The team works closely with Branch Banking, Affluent and Wealth businesses, Digital, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Analytics, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Finance to deliver differentiated products and seamless customer journeys.
About the Role
We are looking for a senior product leader to own the strategy, proposition, P&L and lifecycle of Premium Savings Accounts for affluent, priority and emerging-affluent customers. The role will drive high-quality CASA growth, deepen customer relationships and build a differentiated, digitally enabled proposition. The incumbent will lead a team of 2-4 product managers and serve as the single point of ownership across proposition design, pricing, acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, performance management and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Premium Savings product strategy in line with the Banks Retail Liabilities and affluent-segment priorities; translate the strategy into an annual product roadmap and business plan.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, including customer insight, proposition design, business case, product approvals, launch readiness, post-implementation review, periodic review, enhancement and sunset.
- Design and enhance differentiated propositions across relationship benefits, debit card and lifestyle privileges, insurance covers, service features, fees and charges, and cross-product bundling with Cards, Wealth and Lending.
- Own portfolio P&L and deliver business outcomes across balances, new-to-bank acquisition, activation, balance per account, product holding, attrition, revenue per customer and profitability.
- Define and monitor portfolio KPIs, identify performance gaps and lead corrective actions using analytics, customer research, campaign response, NPS and complaints insights.
- Manage pricing and commercial levers, including minimum balance constructs, fees, waivers, discounts and partner economics, balancing customer value, competitiveness, growth and margin.
- Lead digital integration across onboarding, Video KYC, mobile and internet banking journeys, servicing and data-led personalisation; use analytics and AI responsibly to improve targeting and engagement.
- Drive acquisition, activation, engagement, balance build-up and retention programs in partnership with Branch Banking, Priority/Wealth teams, Marketing, Digital and Analytics.
- Partner with Operations, Service and Technology to simplify onboarding and servicing, improve fulfilment and resolution, and consistently deliver the product promise to premium customers.
- Enable frontline teams through clear product communication, training, sales tools, FAQs and collaterals; support resolution of material customer issues and recurring service gaps.
- Ensure products, processes and customer communications comply with applicable RBI directions, KYC/AML requirements, customer-service and fair-practice standards, DICGC requirements, data-privacy obligations and internal policies.
- Maintain robust product governance and control frameworks; monitor operational and conduct risks and ensure timely closure of audit, regulatory and internal-review observations.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 2-4 product managers; set clear goals, strengthen capability and foster an inclusive, accountable and high-performance culture.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including partner organisations and vendors, to deliver agreed customer outcomes, service levels and commercial objectives.
Qualifications
Optimal qualification for success on the job is:
- Postgraduate degree in Business, Finance or Management; MBA or CA preferred.
- 10-14 years of banking or financial-services experience, with at least 5 years in Retail Liabilities, Savings/Deposit Products, Affluent Banking or a closely related product-management role.
- Demonstrated experience in product strategy, proposition design, portfolio management, pricing and P&L ownership.
- Experience launching or materially revamping savings/CASA or affluent-banking propositions with measurable business impact.
- Strong understanding of liability products, affluent customer needs, digital banking trends and the applicable RBI regulatory environment.
- People-management experience and the ability to lead a team of 2-4 members.
