Video Editor News (Punjabi)

Video Editor – News (Punjabi)

FIKAR (by Troothpaste Media) is a Punjabi explainer and investigative journalism channel that breaks down the stories shaping Punjab with clarity, context, and honesty. We're looking for a Video Editor who understands both the speed of news and the craft of storytelling.

You'll turn raw footage, interviews, archival material, and scripts into sharp, engaging Punjabi news videos, from quick daily updates and reels to longer explainers. You'll work closely with writers, researchers, and anchors to make complex stories easy to follow without losing their depth.

What you'll do

• Edit daily news packages, explainers, and short-form reels for YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook
• Build visual narratives with maps, graphics, text overlays, and archival footage
• Work to tight news deadlines while maintaining accuracy and editorial standards
• Add Punjabi (Gurmukhi) subtitles and on-screen text cleanly and correctly
• Keep footage, projects, and assets organised for fast turnaround

What we're looking for

• Strong skills in Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve; After Effects is a plus
• Fluent in Punjabi, with the ability to read Gurmukhi comfortably
• A news sense: you know what makes a story land in the first 5 seconds
• Comfort with fast pace, feedback, and multiple edits a day
• A portfolio of news, documentary, or explainer-style work

If you care about Punjab's stories being told well, we'd like to see your work.
