Vertical Head(interior design projects for colleges /universities)

Key Responsibilities

• Vertical Strategy & P&L Ownership
• Define and drive the growth strategy for the Educational Projects vertical, aligned with overall company
  
  

goals.

• Own the vertical's P&L — revenue, margins, and profitability — across all Pan-India projects.
• Set annual business targets and monitor performance against budgets, forecasts, and growth plans.
• Identify new markets, geographies, and institution segments (K-12, higher education, ed-tech campuses,
  
  

etc.) for expansion.

• Business Development & Client Relationships
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the education sector — institution management,
  
  

trustees, principals/administrators, and consultants/architects.

• Lead business development efforts to win new projects Pan-India, including proposal development,
  
  

pitching, and commercial negotiations.

• Represent the organization at relevant industry forums, education sector events, and client engagements.
• Project Delivery & Execution Oversight
• Provide overall leadership and oversight for all ongoing educational institution projects across locations,
  
  

ensuring timely, on-budget, and quality delivery.

• Set and monitor delivery standards, project governance, and escalation mechanisms across the project
  
  

portfolio.

• Review project plans, resourcing, and risk mitigation with Project Managers/Site Heads on a regular
  
  

cadence.

• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and quality norms applicable to educational institution projects
  
  

across states.

• Team Leadership
• Build, lead, and mentor a Pan-India team of Project Managers, Site Heads, Design Coordinators, and
  
  

Business Development leads dedicated to the vertical.

• Drive capability building and structured resourcing to support the vertical's growth plans.
• Establish clear KPIs and performance management for the vertical's leadership team.
• Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Coordinate closely with Design, Procurement, Finance, and HR functions to ensure the vertical has the
  
  

resources and support needed to deliver.

• Provide regular business updates, project status reports, and risk flags directly to the CEO.
• Ensure strong governance and reporting discipline across all projects within the vertical.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management; MBA or equivalent
  
  

management qualification preferred.

• 15+ years of experience in project execution and/or business leadership, with a strong track record
  
  

specifically in educational institution projects (schools, colleges, universities, or campus infrastructure).

• Demonstrated experience owning a business vertical or large project portfolio, including P&L
  
  

responsibility.

• Proven ability to build and manage client relationships within the education sector.
• Experience managing Pan-India operations and teams across multiple, geographically dispersed project
  
  

locations.

• Strong understanding of construction/interior fit-out project lifecycles, statutory compliance, and
  
  

quality/safety standards relevant to institutional projects.
