Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Trainer – HIM Services (ED Facility Coding) with strong expertise in Emergency Department (ED) Facility Coding and medical coding operations. The candidate will be responsible for delivering training programs, conducting quality-focused learning interventions, developing coding competencies, and supporting operational excellence across the coding team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver new hire training and process-specific training for ED Facility Coding teams.
- Conduct refresher sessions on ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, NCCI edits, CMS guidelines, and client-specific coding requirements.
- Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, audits, and competency assessments.
- Develop training content, presentations, assessment modules, and coding reference materials.
- Analyze quality and productivity trends and identify training needs.
- Conduct coding audits and provide actionable feedback to improve coding accuracy.
- Support coders in resolving complex coding scenarios and client-specific queries.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Client Services teams to implement process improvements.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives and continuous learning programs.
- Monitor trainee performance during nesting and production phases.
- Maintain training records, attendance, certifications, and performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, client guidelines, and industry standards.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Biotechnology, Zoology, Microbiology, or related healthcare field.
- Medical coding certification preferred: CPC,COC,CCS,CIC,CRC
Experience
- Min 3+ Years of overall medical coding experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in ED Facility coding.
- Exposure to productivity, quality, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience conducting classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions.
- Strong hands-on experience in Emergency Department (ED) Facility Coding.
