Trainee Test Engineer

Job Summary

Perform end-to-end functional testing of Loan Origination System (LOS) applications. Understand business requirements, BRDs/FSDs/User stories and convert them into detailed test scenarios and test cases. Validate complete loan origination journeys across:

• Customer onboarding
• Loan application creation
• KYC and customer verification
• Document collection and validation
• Credit bureau checks
• Eligibility assessment
• Credit underwriting
• Approval/rejection workflows
• Sanction process
• Documentation
• Disbursement processing

Responsibilities

• Perform Functional, Integration, System, Regression, SIT and UAT testing.
• Validate LOS integration with upstream/downstream banking applications.
• Perform API/interface validation using tools such as Postman.
• Perform backend/database validation using SQL queries.
• Validate business rules, workflow configurations, field validations and maker-checker/authorization flows.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, execution evidence, RTM and test summary reports.
• Identify, document and track defects using JIRA or similar defect-management tools.
• Perform defect retesting and regression testing after fixes.
• Coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product teams and business stakeholders for requirement clarification and defect resolution.
• Support UAT and production validation activities.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in LOS / Lending application testing.
• Good understanding of the end-to-end loan origination lifecycle.
• Experience in Manual/Functional Testing.
• Strong test-scenario and test-case preparation skills.
• Candidate should have good functional understanding of one or more lending products.
