Technical Consultant III (Sr Java)

What Is the Opportunity

As a Technical Consultant III, you combine strong hands-on engineering expertise with the ability to independently deliver complex technical implementations.

You understand enterprise banking environments, including core systems, data integrations, APIs, and modern SaaS architectures. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable, reliable solutions.

This role blends hands-on development, solution implementation, technical problem-solving, and customer engagement.

Solution Implementation and Delivery Excellence

• Design, configure, develop, and implement enterprise-grade software solutions aligned with customer and platform requirements.
• Take ownership of technical workstreams from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Develop integration solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Apache Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
• Ensure solution quality through unit testing, peer reviews, debugging, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot complex implementation and integration issues and collaborate with appropriate teams to drive resolution.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and identify scalable approaches for customer requirements.

Customer Engagement and Technical Partnership

• Engage directly with customer technology teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and configuration approaches.
• Participate in and, where appropriate, lead technical discussions, workshops, design reviews, and demonstrations.
• Clearly communicate technical dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support deployment and production transition activities to ensure successful implementation outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Enablement

• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, QA, and Operations teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
• Ensure implementations align with platform architecture and engineering standards.
• Identify reusable technical patterns, components, and implementation practices.
• Participate actively in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and communities of practice.
• Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced consultants and developers.

Operational Support and Quality Assurance

• Support post-implementation troubleshooting and production stabilization.
• Investigate application, integration, API, data, and performance-related issues.
• Work with Operations and Engineering teams to maintain solution reliability, data integrity, and performance.
• Document technical designs, implementation decisions, troubleshooting outcomes, and key learnings.

Must Have

• Strong understanding of the software-development lifecycle, object-oriented development, integration patterns, and modern API architectures.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Apache Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts, preferably Microsoft Azure, along with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of enterprise application integration and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with banking systems and data-integration frameworks within financial-services environments.
• Four or more years of experience as a Software Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar technical role, preferably within SaaS, enterprise software, fintech, or banking technology.
• Experience independently delivering significant application-development or integration components.
• Experience participating in customer-facing technical discussions and requirements analysis.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including Scrum and TDD/BDD.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, particularly across distributed enterprise applications.
• Application-development experience within large enterprise or hybrid-cloud environments.
