Job Description
Job Purpose
To ensure a safe, secure, and seamless experience for internal and external stakeholders by managing shift-wise industrial security operations across the Speciality Alumina unit at Belagavi. The role is responsible for gate management, access control, visitor and vehicle movement monitoring, security manpower deployment, surveillance monitoring, incident response, security investigations, coordination with external agencies, and support during VIP visits and plant events while continuously improving security performance through audits, training, and corrective actions.
Job Context & Major Challenges
The role operates in a dynamic industrial environment with continuous movement of employees, contractors, visitors, and material vehicles across plant and township premises. Key responsibilities include supervising security personnel, managing gate operations, maintaining documentation, conducting patrols, preventing unauthorized entry, and ensuring compliance with security procedures. Major challenges involve managing entry-exit activities during peak periods, ensuring vehicle compliance, maintaining road safety standards, handling security incidents, managing contractor security staff, and ensuring uninterrupted security coverage through effective shift management and communication.

Shift-wise Security Operations
- Ensure physical security of people, assets, and materials through effective deployment and patrolling.
- Maintain security equipment readiness and effective shift handovers.
Access Control & Gate Management
- Monitor and regulate entry, exit, and material movement.
- Ensure ID verification, visitor management, frisking, and gate pass compliance.
Security Compliance
- Ensure adherence to security SOPs, statutory requirements, and audit readiness.
- Support closure of audit observations and corrective actions.
Vehicle Movement & Safety Compliance
- Verify vehicle fitness, documentation, and driver credentials.
- Monitor speed limits, parking discipline, and movement within premises.
Incident Management & Investigation
- Handle theft, trespassing, unsafe acts, and policy violations.
- Conduct preliminary investigations and implement preventive measures.
Emergency Response & Safety
- Support emergency drills, fire response, evacuation, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with EHS and area owners on security-related safety observations.
Surveillance & Asset Protection
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and perimeter security.
- Ensure timely closure of abnormalities and vulnerabilities.
Vendor Security Manpower Management
- Supervise outsourced security personnel performance and deployment.
- Validate attendance, bills, and cost optimization initiatives.
