Job Description

Sr. Project Managers at ELLKAY are accountable for driving the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional projects across the ELLKAY product suite, ensuring high-quality outcomes that support healthcare clients evolving needs. This role combines hands-on project leadership with people development and process improvement. In addition to directly managing high-priority client implementations, Sr. PMs serve as mentors and escalation points for other project managers, helping to continuously elevate the performance and impact of the broader delivery team.

Ideal candidates bring deep experience in healthcare technology, exceptional organizational and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence both internal and client teams. The Sr. PM ensures delivery excellence, cultivates strong client relationships, and drives innovation in implementation practices and team operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Project Delivery Leadership

• Oversee the successful implementation of ELLKAY'ssolutions in the ELLKAY product suite.  
• Oversee full lifecycle implementation of complex healthcare data, interoperability, or migration projects, includingplanning, execution, and deployment across multiple ELLKAY product lines.
• Lead high-impact client engagements that require advanced technical knowledge, cross-department coordination, and strategic stakeholder alignment.
• Own project planning and execution: create detailed project plans, manage resource allocation, track milestones, and ensure on-time, in-scope delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications and status updates with internal and external stakeholders, including executive sponsors.
• Manage and resolve risks, issues,scopechanges, andinterdependenciesacross technology, business, and client functions.
• Define and enforce success criteria across projects; ensure high client satisfaction and alignment with contractual deliverables.
  
  

People Leadership & Team Development

• Provide coaching, mentorship, and operational support to project managers and junior staff within the department.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for project and client issues that require elevated attention.
• Contribute to onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer across the project management team.
• Foster a high-performance team culture that emphasizes collaboration, quality, and ownership.
  
  

Process & Strategic Improvement

• Identifyand champion opportunities tooptimizedelivery methodologies, tools, and workflows.
• Recommend and help implement improvements to team processes, documentation standards, and project reporting frameworks.
• Contribute to internal strategic initiatives aimed at improving client outcomes, scalability, and efficiency.
• Participate in department-wide planning and alignment efforts with Product, Engineering, QA, and Sales teams.

• Experience in client-facing roles with a service-oriented mindset andhigh standardsfor customer experience.
• Proven ability to manage and deliver complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience coaching and mentoring project managers or junior team members.
• Advanced organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
• Strategic problem solver with strong critical thinking, issue resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Confident and collaborative team player who thrives in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
• Experience serving as a primary point of contact for high-stakes clients and navigating sensitive escalations with poise and professionalism.
• Demonstrated success building trusted client relationships and aligning project delivery with broader business goals.
• Proactive mindset with the ability toidentifyprocess improvement opportunities and drive change within a growing organization.
• Strong understanding of EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech),ancillarysystems, or otherclinicaldata platforms.
• Proficiencywith healthcare data exchange standards and formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CCD, APIs, CSV, XML).
• Familiarity with interoperability workflows and integration patterns between healthcare systems.
• Working knowledge of networking protocols and data transmission methods (e.g., SFTP, VPN, TCP/IP).
• Comfortable leading technical conversations and collaborating with engineering, QA, and product teams.
  
  

Education/Training/Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, technology, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of project management experience, with 2+ years in a senior-level or lead role.
• Experience delivering implementations within healthcare IT or health data environmentsrequired.
• Demonstrated success leading projects across multiple departments or product lines simultaneously.
• PMP or other project management certificationstronglypreferred.
• Proficiencywith project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MSOffice Suite, Asana,Vision,Jira, Confluence).
