Sr.Product Configurator(ISG)

Job Summary

Serve as a senior product configurator within the insurance solutions group designing and implementing robust configurations using Velocity 1.7 Java 8 and InsuranceNow to support critical insurance products. Collaborate with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model to deliver scalable maintainable and compliant solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency for global clients.

Responsibilities

• Configure complex insurance products and rating logic on the InsuranceNow platform using Velocity 1.7 and Java 8 to deliver accurate and reliable policy transactions that align with client business rules and regulatory expectations.
• Develop and optimize server side scripts and services using Java 8 to support configurable workflows on InsuranceNow so that performance scalability and maintainability remain consistently high in production environments.
• Analyze detailed business requirements from product owners and underwriters to translate insurance rules into precise product configuration artifacts that minimize defects and rework during user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with business analysts quality engineers and architects in a hybrid work setting to plan configuration changes estimate effort and coordinate deployments that align with agile delivery timelines.
• Troubleshoot complex configuration defects and integration issues by reviewing logs configuration metadata and Java components to restore stable system behavior and prevent recurrence.
• Create and maintain technical design documents configuration guides and impact assessments that clearly describe implemented changes and help stakeholders understand system behavior over time.
• Perform configuration unit testing and support system integration testing to validate end to end policy lifecycle scenarios such as quote bind endorsement cancellation and renewal on InsuranceNow.
• Optimize existing product configurations by refactoring Velocity templates streamlining rules and improving data mappings to reduce processing time and enhance stability.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and release teams to package and promote configuration builds across environments ensuring that versioning approvals and rollback plans are clearly defined.
• Mentor junior configurators by reviewing their configuration work explaining best practices for Velocity and Java usage and guiding them toward consistent and high quality delivery.
• Engage with client stakeholders during design and review sessions to clarify configuration options explain system constraints and propose feasible alternatives that balance flexibility and maintainability.
• Ensure that all configuration changes respect security privacy and compliance guidelines so that customer data and critical business information remain protected.
• Monitor production behavior after configuration releases by analyzing metrics and user feedback to proactively identify improvement opportunities that enhance customer and operations outcomes.
  
  

Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong hands on experience configuring insurance products using Velocity 1.7 templates and related scripting capabilities to implement dynamic content and rating logic.
• Apply solid Java 8 programming skills to build extensions utilities and integrations that complement InsuranceNow configuration while following robust coding standards.
• Bring practical experience working with InsuranceNow or comparable insurance policy administration platforms including configuration of products workflows and rating.
• Utilize knowledge of property and casualty insurance or similar insurance domains to interpret coverage definitions rating factors and underwriting rules with high accuracy.
• Exhibit experience operating in agile or iterative delivery environments using work management tools and practices that support collaboration in a hybrid work model.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders to explain configuration decisions document impacts and support training for operational users.
• Leverage experience of at least five years in software configuration or development roles preferably within insurance technology to handle complex and high impact change initiatives.
  
  

Certifications Required

Preferred certifications include Java SE 8 Programmer certification and InsuranceNow or equivalent insurance platform configuration certification if available.
