Role Overview

Avira Digital is looking for an experienced Solution Architect / Technical Program Manager – Life Sciences & AI to lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of enterprise digital platforms and AI-enabled solutions for global Life Sciences and Pharma customers.

The ideal candidate should have a strong combination of hands-on software architecture, Life Sciences/Pharma domain expertise, AWS cloud, modern application engineering, Generative/Agentic AI, and technical program leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture across applications, data, integrations, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and AI components.
• Design and lead cloud-native, microservices, event-driven, and API-led architectures, primarily on AWS.
• Provide technical leadership across Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, ETL/ELT, SQL/NoSQL, Docker, CI/CD, and distributed systems.
• Lead initiatives involving Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, LLM applications, LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, and MCP.
• Define architecture patterns, API contracts, ADRs, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Drive technical program delivery across engineering, data, QA, UX, and product teams.
• Work with VP/Director-level stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Lead technical discovery, estimation, architecture reviews, build-vs-buy assessments, roadmaps, and implementation planning.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, data privacy, security, and audit requirements.
• Establish and govern CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, release management, observability, and production engineering practices.
• Mentor senior engineers, architects, and offshore delivery teams while maintaining a strong hands-on technical focus.
• Support pre-sales activities, RFPs/RFIs, client workshops, POCs, and technical presentations.
• Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve engineering productivity and Life Sciences business processes.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 12+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Solution Architecture, Technical Delivery, or Technical Program Management.
• Mandatory Life Sciences / Pharma / CRO / Healthcare domain experience.
• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale digital applications/platforms.
• Hands-on expertise in:
• Python
• FastAPI
• REST APIs
• Microservices
• Event-Driven Architecture
• SQL / NoSQL
• Integration Patterns
• Strong AWS experience with services such as:
• Lambda
• S3
• DynamoDB
• RDS
• API Gateway
• CloudWatch
• Containers
• Serverless Architecture
• Experience with Generative AI / Agentic AI, including LLM applications, RAG, AI agents, workflow orchestration, or multi-agent architectures.
• Experience with at least one of:
• LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, MCP, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, code quality, architecture governance, and SDLC.
• Experience managing large cross-functional engineering teams and complex technical programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in regulated environments involving GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, CSV, data governance, privacy, and security.

Preferred Life Sciences Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is an advantage:

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• MBA or advanced technical/business degree is a plus.
• AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Agile/Scrum certification such as CSM/A-CSM is an advantage.
