About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect – Mendix to provide end-to-end architecture and technology leadership for a large-scale enterprise transformation program.

The role is responsible for understanding complex business and technology challenges, defining the right solution approach, establishing the target architecture and roadmap, and ensuring successful execution across multiple technology streams.

This is a client-facing architecture and technology leadership role, not a hands-on development position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and technology strategy for complex enterprise applications built on the Mendix platform.
• Understand client business objectives, technology constraints and pain points, and translate them into scalable, secure and practical technology solutions.
• Define current-state, target-state and transition architectures, technology standards and architectural principles.
• Own the technical roadmap, architecture decisions, integration strategy and delivery approach across project phases.
• Provide technology direction across Mendix, Mobile, Enterprise Integration, Azure/Cloud, DevOps, Security and QA.
• Work closely with the Client, Project Manager and Client Relationship Manager to establish priorities, dependencies, risks and technical milestones.
• Lead technical workshops and discovery sessions with client stakeholders and provide architecture recommendations and solution options.
• Govern technical delivery through architecture reviews, design decisions, standards and engineering governance.
• Lead and guide a multidisciplinary engineering organization of approximately 10–20+ professionals, including developers, QA, DevOps, Cloud and Integration specialists.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex architectural and delivery challenges.

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall technology experience, including substantial experience in Solution Architecture / Technical Architecture.
• Strong expertise in Mendix and enterprise application architecture.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale international enterprise transformation projects.
• Experience working directly with international clients, senior stakeholders and distributed technology teams.
• Proven leadership of 10–20+ technology professionals across development, QA, DevOps, Cloud and Integration.
• Strong understanding of API architecture, enterprise integration, cloud platforms, CI/CD, security, scalability and non-functional requirements.
• Experience with webMethods or comparable enterprise integration platforms is highly desirable.
• Strong consulting, communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

You will be expected to operate at the intersection of Business, Architecture and Engineering:

Understand the Problem → Assess Options → Define the Architecture → Establish the Roadmap → Govern Delivery → Enable Engineering Teams

You are not expected to implement every solution yourself.

Your value comes from understanding the client's problem, challenging assumptions where required, recommending the right technology approach, making sound architecture decisions, and enabling engineering teams to deliver the solution successfully.

This is a senior Solution Architecture and Technology Leadership position — not a Senior Mendix Developer role.
