Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee the college's civil works, building construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects. The candidate should have strong knowledge of multi-storey building construction and be capable of independently monitoring contractors, site activities, quality, safety, and project progress.

Key Responsibilities

1. Construction & Project Monitoring

• Monitor construction and civil works for multi-storey college buildings.
• Supervise RCC, structural, masonry, plastering, flooring, roofing, waterproofing, and finishing works.
• Ensure construction is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.

2. Drawing & Technical Coordination

• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, contractors, and project consultants.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Verify measurements and quantities of completed works.

3. Contractor Management

• Coordinate and supervise contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and daily work activities.
• Check contractor work quality and compliance with specifications.
• Verify work bills and measurements before submission for approval.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure quality of construction materials and workmanship.
• Monitor concrete, steel, brickwork, plastering, waterproofing, and other construction activities.
• Coordinate material testing wherever required.
• Ensure rectification of defective or incomplete works.

5. College Building Maintenance

• Monitor routine and preventive maintenance of academic blocks, laboratories, administrative buildings, hostels, staff quarters, roads, drainage, and other campus facilities.
• Coordinate plumbing, civil, masonry, flooring, painting, waterproofing, and related maintenance works.
• Attend to urgent civil maintenance complaints and ensure timely resolution.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure contractors follow required site safety procedures.
• Monitor housekeeping and safe working conditions at construction sites.
• Ensure proper barricading and safety measures around ongoing construction.
• Coordinate with the administration/security team to maintain a safe campus environment.

7. Estimation & Documentation

• Prepare/verify BOQ, estimates, measurements, material requirements, and work orders.
• Maintain project records, drawings, measurement books, inspection reports, and contractor documentation.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports for management.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and expenditure.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in civil construction/site supervision.
• Experience in multi-storey building construction is preferred.
• Experience in educational institutions, commercial buildings, or large infrastructure projects will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of RCC and multi-storey building construction.
• Good understanding of structural and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of BOQ, estimation, quantity measurement, and billing.
• Contractor and site management skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project documentation.
• Ability to independently monitor multiple civil works/projects.

Preferred Candidate

A Civil Engineer who has hands-on experience in multi-storey building construction, college campus infrastructure, contractor management, maintenance, quality control, and project monitoring.
