Senior UX Strategist

Ungrammary is a leading UX/UI and product design agency based in Mumbai, India, working with global brands and ambitious companies to create meaningful digital products and experiences. Our work spans technology, fintech, healthcare, SaaS, retail, and consumer products, with products designed by our team already being used by millions of people. We work with brands including Adobe, Fossil Group, VMware, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and other leading organizations.

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer who can take ownership of complex design problems from ambiguity to execution. Someone who can move comfortably between UX strategy, interaction design, visual design, and product thinking — while bringing clarity to both the team and the client.

You should be comfortable challenging assumptions, asking the right questions, articulating your decisions, and taking a product from an early problem space to a thoughtful, polished experience.

What You'll Do

• Own UX design across projects, from understanding the problem and defining user needs to delivering polished digital experiences.
• Translate complex business and user problems into clear product and design directions.
• Lead user flows, information architecture, interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI design.
• Make thoughtful design decisions and clearly communicate the reasoning behind them to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Work closely with founders, clients, product managers, developers, researchers, and other designers to shape product experiences.
• Take ownership of design quality across projects and ensure that the final experience is both strategically sound and exceptionally crafted.
• Create scalable design systems, components, and patterns that enable consistency across products.
• Think deeply about interaction design, user behaviour, edge cases, and the details that make an experience feel intuitive.
• Identify gaps in a product or design direction and proactively propose better solutions rather than simply executing requirements.
• Present and defend design decisions with clarity, adapting your communication to different stakeholders.
• Contribute to product strategy, storytelling, workshops, and client conversations beyond the scope of UI/UX execution.
• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to junior and mid-level designers.
• Stay curious about emerging design tools, technologies, and AI workflows and continuously evolve how you work.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 4–6 years of experience in UX/UI, product design, or a related field.
• Exceptional UI aesthetics and a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of information architecture, user flows, interaction design, prototyping, and usability.
• Ability to think beyond individual screens and understand the larger product ecosystem.
• Strong product thinking and the ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Ability to independently take ownership of a project or significant workstream.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate and defend design decisions.
• Proficiency in Figma and modern product design workflows.
• Experience working with design systems and scalable product interfaces.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft and thoughtful UX thinking.
• Curiosity and adaptability — you actively explore new tools and ways of working rather than relying on a fixed process.
