About the Role

Backdropsource is a fast-growing global e-commerce brand delivering custom-printed backdrops and fabrics to customers across North America and Europe.

We're hiring a Senior SEO Expert to own our organic growth strategy end-to-end. This is a senior, autonomous role — you'll set the direction for search across backdropsource.com rather than executing someone else's plan.

This role goes beyond traditional SEO. As search behavior shifts toward AI-generated answers, hands-on experience with AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is mandatory alongside classic SEO. If your experience is purely traditional SEO, this isn't the right fit.

We're open to candidates whose SEO experience comes from any market — strong international SEO fundamentals matter more to us than a UK, US, or Canada-specific background.

What You'll Do

Strategy and technical foundation

Own the end-to-end SEO strategy for backdropsource.com across North America, Europe, and new markets.

Run regular technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexing, site speed, Core Web Vitals, and structured data.

Manage international SEO considerations including hreflang tags, geo-targeting, and localized content.

AI search (AEO/GEO)

Optimize content and structured data for AI answer engines and generative search — ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and equivalents.

Track evolving AEO and GEO best practices and adapt our strategy as AI-driven search grows.

Content and on-page

Lead keyword research and content strategy, working with the content and design teams on SEO-friendly pages and blogs.

Drive on-page optimization across product, category, and landing pages, including metadata, internal linking, and schema markup.

Authority and reporting

Build and execute a link-building and authority strategy to improve domain rankings.

Track and report on rankings, organic traffic, and conversions using GA4, Google Search Console, Semrush, and Ahrefs.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably with an e-commerce brand.

Hands-on AEO and GEO experience — this is mandatory, not a nice-to-have.

Strong technical SEO knowledge, including Shopify-specific nuances.

A proven track record of driving measurable organic growth in both traffic and revenue.

Proficiency with Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and GA4.

Strong international SEO fundamentals.

Comfortable working cross-functionally with design, content, and development teams.

Hands-on experience across AEO, GEO, and SEO is mandatory for this role
