About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer (Java) with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and backend system architecture. The ideal candidate will take ownership of critical services, build scalable APIs, manage system integrations, and ensure high performance and reliability across production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Take ownership of assigned microservices, ensuring their performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Understand, document, and improve existing business logic across backend services.
Implement Kafka producers and consumers for event-driven communication and notification pipelines.
Integrate backend services with external systems and third-party platforms.
Work with MySQL databases, including complex queries, transactions, indexing, and performance optimization.
Manage Docker containers, Kubernetes deployments, and Helm configurations.
Implement secure authentication and authorization using JWT and OAuth2.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests.
Troubleshoot production issues and support escalations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers where required.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of professional backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining microservices architecture.
Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, and consumer groups.
Experience with MySQL, database transactions, indexing, and query optimization.
Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of REST API design, OpenAPI, and Swagger.
Experience with JWT, OAuth2, and secure API development.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
Familiarity with Git workflows and Helm charts.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have
Experience with Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, or Spring Scheduler.
Knowledge of HashiCorp Vault for secrets and certificate management.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Zipkin, or ELK Stack.
Familiarity with Kafka on Kubernetes or service mesh technologies.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
Knowledge of telecom systems, BSS/OSS workflows, or provisioning integrations.
