Job Summary

Sigma Racks is looking for an experienced and technically skilled Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in sheet metal design, fabrication, and new product development (NPD). The candidate should have hands-on expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, costing, and engineering documentation, along with good Excel skills and effective English communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet metal components, fabrication assemblies, racks, and related manufacturing products.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Handle new product development (NPD), from concept design to prototype development and production implementation.
• Prepare BOMs (Bills of Materials), cutting layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Perform product costing, material estimation, and cost optimization.
• Coordinate with production, fabrication, purchase, and quality teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacturing.
• Maintain engineering drawings, revision records, and technical documentation.
• Use MS Excel for costing sheets, BOMs, material calculations, and engineering reports.
• Support continuous improvement in product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and cost reduction.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in sheet metal design and fabrication.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Practical experience in NPD and product development.
• Good understanding of sheet metal processes, including cutting, bending, welding, and fabrication.
• Experience in product costing, material estimation, and cost optimization.
• Good command of MS Excel.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional manufacturing teams.

Educational Qualification

Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Male candidate with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Candidates from sheet metal manufacturing, industrial racks, storage systems, or fabrication companies will be preferred.
• Should be technically strong, detail-oriented, and capable of independently handling design and costing activities.
• Must be comfortable working at the Panki, Kanpur manufacturing location.
