Senior AWS EKS Platform Engineer ( Contract)

Role & responsibilities

Position: Senior AWS EKS Platform Engineer (payroll with Recruise), on Contract with our client

Experience: 6-8 years

Location: Whitefield ,

Interview: R1 at Recruise office F2F , R2 – at client office F2F

Amazon EKS Administration

• Manage and support production-grade Amazon EKS clusters.
• Perform cluster upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Configure and manage node groups, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
• Implement and maintain IRSA (IAM Roles for Service Accounts).
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes cluster, node, networking, and application deployment issues.
• Manage Kubernetes networking components including VPC CNI, DNS, Services, and Ingress.
• Support application teams deploying workloads on EKS.

AWS Networking

• Design and manage AWS networking components including VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, Internet Gateways, and Load Balancers.
• Configure and troubleshoot Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, and hybrid connectivity.
• Implement networking and security best practices using Security Groups and NACLs.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, DNS, and application traffic flow issues.
• Optimize network performance, availability, and cost.

Terraform Development

• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules.
• Automate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
• Manage remote state, workspaces, and environment standardization.
• Follow Infrastructure-as-Code best practices for scalable platform management.
• Support platform automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

CI/CD & Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (preferred) or Jenkins.
• Automate application deployment workflows for Kubernetes environments.
• Implement GitOps practices using Argo CD.
• Integrate security scans, quality checks, and deployment validations into pipelines.
• Support release management and deployment automation.

Preferred candidate profile

• 6-9 years of experience in AWS and DevOps engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS administration and Kubernetes operations.
• Strong expertise in AWS Networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Route53, ALB/NLB).
• Strong Terraform development experience, including module design and state management.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Kubernetes ingress controllers, autoscaling, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of IAM, IRSA, security, and networking best practices.
• Scripting experience using Bash or Python

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
