Job Description

Design and develop closure mechanisms such as doors, lids, hatches, covers, tailgates, access panels, and locking systems.

Design and optimize sealing solutions including weather seals, gaskets, O-rings, dynamic seals, and water/dust ingress protection systems.

Define product specifications, performance requirements, and validation criteria.

Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, and risk assessments.

Support CAD modeling and engineering drawings using tools such as CATIA,

Collaborate with manufacturing, supplier quality, testing, and program teams during product development.

Evaluate mechanism performance for opening/closing effort, durability, NVH, sealing effectiveness, and customer usability.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for field and manufacturing issues.

Support prototype builds, testing activities, and design verification.

Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.

Drive cost, weight, quality, and performance improvements.
