Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to create, update, and maintain 2D engineering drawings and associated project documentation. The role involves interpreting engineering inputs, incorporating design modifications, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate drawings within project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and revise Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping layouts, equipment layouts, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Incorporate redline markups, engineering inputs, and client-requested design modifications.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable company, client, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve drawing-related issues.
• Perform drawing quality checks for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Maintain drawing revision histories, change records, and document status.
• Convert scanned drawings, PDFs, and hand sketches into accurate, editable AutoCAD drawings.
• Support updates to Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) drawings and related engineering documentation, as required.
• Maintain organized project documentation and drawing databases.
• Complete assigned deliverables within project timelines while maintaining high accuracy and quality.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting, including layers, blocks, external references, dimensions, layouts, and plotting.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and engineering markups.
• Understanding of engineering drawing symbols, tagging conventions, title blocks, and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with drawing revision control and engineering document management.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to verify drawings against engineering inputs.
• Effective communication, coordination, and time-management skills.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in engineering drafting and documentation.
• Familiarity with HAC drawings and associated documentation is preferred.
• Experience working with engineering drawing databases or document management systems is preferred.
