Job Description Science Teacher (Grades 8–10)

Qualification: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology or relevant subject) with a mandatory B.Ed. qualification
Experience: Prior teaching experience in the Karnataka State Board curriculum is preferred.

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated Science Teacher to teach students from Grades 8 to 10 under the Karnataka State Syllabus. The candidate should be capable of delivering engaging lessons, simplifying scientific concepts and preparing students effectively for their academic examinations, particularly the SSLC examination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and deliver effective Science lessons in accordance with the Karnataka State Board curriculum.
2. Teach Physics, Chemistry and Biology concepts for Grades 8, 9 and 10.
3. Explain complex scientific concepts through practical examples, demonstrations and activities.
4. Conduct practical sessions and laboratory experiments while ensuring student safety.
5. Prepare lesson plans, assignments, worksheets, question papers and assessment materials.
6. Monitor students' academic progress and provide additional support to students who require improvement.
7. Prepare Grade 10 students for SSLC examinations through revision sessions, model examinations and practice tests.
8. Maintain student attendance, academic records and assessment reports.
9. Encourage scientific curiosity, analytical thinking and active classroom participation.
10. Coordinate with fellow teachers, the academic coordinator and school management regarding academic activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• B.Ed. qualification is compulsory.
• Relevant Science graduation/postgraduation qualification.
• Good command of English and ability to communicate effectively with students.
• Experience teaching Karnataka State Syllabus is an added advantage.
