About this role
The SAP Basis Consultant will own end-to-end administration of SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems running on Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server. Working closely with functional, infrastructure, network, and security teams, you will ensure high availability, optimal performance, and compliance while driving upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives across the SAP landscape.
- 8+ years of SAP BASIS experience on Windows and SQL Server platforms.
- Proven track record of SAP system migrations, upgrades, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SWPM, SUM DMO, and DMOVE2S4 for S/4HANA projects.
- Strong knowledge of SAP HANA installation, migration, backup/recovery, and tenant management.
- Good understanding of AWS infrastructure services (EC2, VPC, EBS, Load Balancers, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Experience with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) and cloud migration methodologies.
- Ability to develop migration strategies, perform readiness assessments, and manage cut-over activities.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across SAP application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Effective communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., SAP BASIS, AWS Solutions Architect) are a plus.
- Design and execute SAP system migrations from on-premises to AWS native cloud, including cut-over planning and downtime estimation.
- Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, kernel updates, patching, and performance tuning on Windows/SQL Server platforms.
- Conduct homogeneous and heterogeneous system copies using SWPM, ensuring post-migration validation.
- Lead SAP S/4HANA transformation projects using SUM DMO and DMOVE2S4 tools.
- Manage SAP HANA database installation, migration, upgrade, backup/recovery, and tenant administration.
- Monitor and troubleshoot SAP workloads on AWS services such as EC2, VPC, EBS, Load Balancers, and CloudWatch.
- Develop migration strategies, readiness assessments, and coordinate with application, database, and infrastructure teams.
- Utilize AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) and apply RISE with SAP migration best practices where applicable.
- Document migration processes, create run-books, and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support and incident resolution.
