About this role
To lead the Quality Control and Quality Management activities for the HDPE-P, PVC, TPO waterproofing membrane manufacturing operation, ensuring consistent product quality from raw-material receipt through extrusion, finishing, testing, release and dispatch.
2.
The QC Manager will be responsible for establishing robust controls over raw materials, extrusion process parameters, physical and mechanical properties, dimensional consistency and finished-product performance, while maintaining an effective Quality Management System.
3.
The position is expected to work closely with GCP international team China, Belgium, US and UK , FTC and SGRI, Production, R&D/Technical, Procurement, Maintenance and Customer/Technical Service teams to reduce variation, prevent defects and continuously improve product quality and process capability.Role & responsibilities
A. Raw Material Quality Control: Establish incoming inspection and approval criteria for key raw materials such as, HDPE/PVC /TPO /SBS /polyethylene resin, Polymer blends/modifiers, Masterbatch, Carbon black/pigments, UV stabilizers, Antioxidants, Fillers and other additives, where applicable and Reinforcement/fleece/lamination materials, where applicable.
2.
Review supplier COA and incoming QC test results before material release. Monitor critical properties such as: Melt Flow Index/Melt Flow, rate, Density, Moisture, Dispersion, viscosity, softening point adhesion grading and Colour
3.
Relevant mechanical properties.
4.
Extrusion & Process Quality Control - The QC Manager should have strong hands-on understanding of sheet/membrane extrusion and preferably multilayer co-extrusion. Key responsibilities include monitoring and controlling: Extruder temperature profile, melt temperature, Melt pressure ,Screw speed ,Extruder output .Feed rate, Die temperature/profile Die gap ,Chill roll/cooling conditions , Line speed ,Membrane thickness and thickness profile Width ,GSM/weight per unit area ,.Surface appearance ,Edge quality, Winding tension, Roll length and roll weight.
5.
Establish raw-material sampling plans and acceptance/rejection criteria.
6.
Maintain approved supplier quality specifications.
7.
Coordinate with Procurement and Technical teams regarding supplier quality issues and raw-material changes.
Develop process control limits rather than depending only on final-product testing. Identify and eliminate extrusion defects such as: Thickness variation, Gels/fisheyes, Pinholes, Wrinkles, Surface lines, Die lines, Black specks/contamination, Colour variation, Poor layer bonding, Curling, Uneven winding, Edge defects, Roll telescoping.
9.
Finish product quality management ,like physical & Dimensional properties, mechanical properties, functional & Durability properties
10.
Lab management: Manage day-to-day operation of the membrane QC laboratory. Ensure correct operation and maintenance of equipments.
11.
Quality Management system: The QC Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective quality system covering: Incoming QC Process QC Finished Product QC Release Traceability Customer Feedback
12.
Non-Conformance, CAPA & Problem Solving: Take ownership of the plant's product-quality non-conformance process. Responsible for: Non-conformance Containment Root Cause Analysis Corrective Action Verification of Effectiveness
13.
Statistical Process Control & Quality Improvement: A major expectation from this role should be to moving QC from "testing and rejection" to "process control and prevention."
14.
Customer Complaints & Field Quality
15.
Team Management: Lead QC Chemists/Lab Technicians and Line QC Inspectors. Define individual roles and responsibilities. Develop competency matrices for QC personnel. Train production operators on quality requirements and defect identification. Build a strong "Quality at Source" culture, Conduct daily/weekly quality review meetings with Manufacturing. Encourage data-based rather than subjective quality decisions.
Preferred candidate profile
