Job Description: Lead QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical) to take full ownership of quality assurance and quality control operations for our project site in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The ideal candidate will oversee all quality management processes, set inspection standards, manage compliance documentation, and liaise with client representatives to ensure strict adherence to engineering standards.

Candidate Profile & Eligibility Criteria

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Total Experience: 10 Years.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years in a reputed organization within QA/QC functions.
• Industry Preference: Prior work experience in Refinery or Petrochemical project environments (experience at Reliance Industries Ltd., Jamnagar site is highly desirable).

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Standards:

• Take full accountability for quality across all manufacturing and site execution activities.
• Develop and implement inspection standards, testing procedures, and quality management systems inline with ISO criteria.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system, recommending continuous improvements.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain complete project QA/QC records, including calibration certificates, test results, inspection requests (RFI), non-compliance reports (NCR), site instructions, and material delivery logs.
• Verify contractor and vendor documentation submittals against client quality requirements.

Site Inspection & Risk Assessment:

• Review on-site material quality, verify certificates, and ensure full compliance with project specifications before procurement and installation.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and Job Safety Environmental Analyses (JSEA) for critical site tasks.
• Supervise inspection schedules, execute process quality audits, and ensure adherence to international codes and standards.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination:

• Coordinate directly with client representatives, technical engineers, and the Site Incharge for site inspections and technical material submittals.

Requisite Technical & Professional Skills

• Thorough knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) quality systems.
• Expertise in preparing and executing Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and Method Statements.
• Hands-on experience managing site QA/QC documentation, calibration certificates, and NCR resolution.
• Deep understanding of material specifications, procurement quality standards, and applicable industry codes.
• Strong audit execution, risk assessment, analytical, and stakeholder coordination skills.
