Role & responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Manual Test Engineer ensures products and systems meet quality standards through testing, analysis, and reporting. They identify defects, collaborate with development teams, and contribute to overall product quality. This role is crucial for delivering reliable and functional products to end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Performing various testing activities, including Functional and Regression testing, to identify defects and ensure functionality.
- Developing and implementing test plans to cover functional aspects of the product.
- Analyzing test results, identifying trends, and reporting on product quality and performance.
- Documenting and tracking defects using tools like Jira.
- Working closely with development, product management, and other teams to resolve issues and improve product quality.
- Ensuring products adhere to established quality standards and requirements.
- Participating in UAT and support go-live activities.
- Identifying areas for improvement in testing processes and contributing to the overall quality of the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain strong, ongoing channels of communication with BA and Development teams.
- Ability to clearly communicate and synchronize efforts with the rest of the QA team.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications and Skills:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science or any related field.
- Track record of QA Testing experience- demonstrated ability to write test plans with traceability to each acceptance criteria listed in requirements.
- Show strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Exhibit excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure development projects are delivered to production only after meeting rigorous testing standards in pre-production environments.
- Ensure that software enhancements and system fixes work to meet intended business needs according to defined requirements.
- Must have the ability to work a schedule supports necessary overlap with U.S. time zones for effective collaboration.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail and strong organization skills.
- Working knowledge of U.S. life insurance, annuity products and group health processing is a plus.
