Project Coordinator (PEB /Steel Building)

Role Purpose

To act as the single point of contact between the client and the internal design team (Tekla detailers, AutoCAD draftsmen, structural designers, 3D automation team), ensuring drawings are finalised accurately and on time, and that the client relationship stays positive.

Key Deliverables

1. Client Coordination & Requirement Understanding

• Study client requirements, GA drawings, specifications, and design criteria, and convey them accurately to the design team.
• Act as the primary contact for client queries, clarifications, and change requests.
• Respond to client queries within defined turnaround times.
• Conduct regular update calls and meetings with clients, and share minutes of meeting (MOMs).

2. Internal Design Team Coordination

• Coordinate with Tekla modellers, AutoCAD draftsmen, designers, and 3D automation engineers to allocate and track work.
• Ensure client inputs, revisions, and comments are correctly reflected in models and drawings.
• Resolve technical and mutual queries between the design team and the client, escalating where needed.

3. Drawing Management & Documentation

• Review drawings (GA, anchor bolt, framing, sheeting, erection, shop drawings) for completeness against client requirements.
• Manage the drawing submission, revision, and approval cycle.
• Maintain a drawing register, revision log, query log, and RFI tracker.
• Ensure clean documentation of approvals, correspondence, and change records.

4. Timeline & Milestone Management

• Track design deliverables against project milestones and committed submission dates.
• Flag delays early and propose corrective actions.
• Provide regular status reports (daily/weekly) to management and the client.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with PPC, production, procurement, and erection teams so approved drawings flow smoothly to fabrication and site.
• Pass on site and production feedback to the design team to reduce rework.

6. Client Relationship & Business Facilitation

• Maintain professional, positive relationships with client engineers, consultants, and PMCs.
• Support the sales and project teams in closing design-related open points that affect orders or payments.
• Manage client escalations calmly and with proper follow-up.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 25 years in PEB or structural steel design, detailing, or project coordination (adjust as needed)

Technical skills:

• Must know AutoCAD and be able to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings
• Working knowledge of Tekla Structures (preferred)
• Understanding of PEB components and drawing types
• MS Excel and MS Office for trackers and reports
