Production Engineer

Job Summary

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with good academic records from a reputed institute.

4-8 years of experience in chemical/lubricant manufacturing, ideally in a batch processing environment.

Proficiency in ERP systems and understanding with ISO/IATF requirements with regard to Production and Maintenance functions.

Exposure to TPM, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience Strong background of multi product manufacturing, batch process, material planning, knowledge of chemical process and process hazard / HAZOP study from the context of lubrication, oil, grease, chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production and process operations, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity targets.
• Lead and manage a team of 5-7 workmen, fostering a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
• Implement and execute the production plan in line with strategic goals, ensuring timely delivery of batches.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF standards and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.
• Monitor and manage high-temperature and high-pressure chemical reactions, adhering strictly to safety and process protocols.
• Apply knowledge of chemical reactions and reaction kinetics to troubleshoot and optimize batch processes.
• Collaborate effectively with Quality Assurance, Planning, Purchase, Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
• Demonstrate strong planning, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience in batch process chemical plants is highly desirable.
• Ensure timely production of batches as per the batch plan and SOPs.
• Encourage 5S practices and ensure zero spillage during all production activities.
• Handle charging of base oils and additives following stepwise instructions as per the batch card.
• Update production output data and generate, map labels for finished goods through ERP.
• Coordinate across departments to support uninterrupted production flow and resolve process bottlenecks.
• Operate both manual and Distributed Control System / DCS-based batch systems, depending on plant configuration.
• Operate and maintain pumps, filters, and other process equipment.
• Safely manage and monitor high-temperature operations, ensuring equipment integrity and operator safety.
• Integrate GMP, TPM, and CIP protocols across production lines.
• Language fluency English and Kannada (Preferable)
