Product Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution:

• Execute daily/weekly production plans to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
• Allocate manpower, machines, and materials effectively.
• Ensure adherence to process sheets, SOPs, and approved manufacturing instructions.

2. Shopfloor Supervision:

• Monitor machining, forming, welding, heat treatment, and assembly activities of missile shell components.
• Ensure safe and compliant operation of CNC/conventional machines and fixtures.
• Resolve technical issues to avoid downtime.

3. Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure in-process inspection, defect control, and traceability as per defence/AS9100 standards.
• Coordinate with QC/QA for first-off approvals, NCR closure, and process audits.

4. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:

• Drive risk-based thinking, process performance monitoring, and continual improvement initiatives as mandated under ISO 9001 and AS9100D, including waste reduction and cycle-time optimization
• Implement root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure effective corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA).

5. Coordination & Reporting:

• Coordinate with PPC, Stores, Tool Room, and Maintenance for uninterrupted production.
• Prepare daily production MIS, variance reports, and shift summaries.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly of metallic components.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), engineering drawings, tolerances, and metallurgy basics.
• Production planning, manpower handling, and shopfloor control.
• Knowledge of OEE, lean tools, and problem-solving techniques
• Preferably in defence/aerospace components, shells, or heavy machining
