Principal Officer PMLA / AML Compliance

About the role

We are launching an FIU-IND registered crypto exchange in India. We're looking for a Principal Officer under the PMLA who will own the exchange's AML/KYC compliance and act as the single point of contact with FIU-IND.

What you'll do

• Be the designated Principal Officer with FIU-IND; handle FINnet reporting (STRs, CTRs and other prescribed reports)
• Build and run the AML/KYC framework: policies, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, risk categorisation
• Review suspicious transactions and decide on escalation and reporting
• Handle regulatory queries, audits and inspections from FIU-IND and other authorities
• Train internal teams on AML/KYC and keep policies updated with regulatory changes

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in AML/KYC compliance at a bank, NBFC, payment aggregator, fintech or crypto exchange
• Hands-on experience with PMLA, FIU-IND reporting and FINnet
• CAMS (ACAMS) certified, or CA/CS/LLB with strong AML background
• Comfortable working with a fast-moving startup team
• Must be based in India; prior VDA/crypto experience is a strong plus
• Handle Audit & Regulatory Reviews , Policy & Process Management, Compliance Monitoring & Risk Management.

Must be based in Mumbai, with preference for candidates residing in Mumbai's Western Suburbs (Andheri, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali and nearby areas)
