About the Role

Emdee is a 20+ year old system integrator delivering IT infrastructure, software, security and surveillance, IT-enabled services, and manpower solutions primarily to government and public sector clients. It is headquartered in Kolkata and has presence in multiple states.

This role is Emdee's technical voice in government sales. You will shape solutions with departments and PSUs, design and price them into compliant bids, and stay close to execution so that what is sold is what gets built.

Key Responsibilities

Presales and Solutioning

• Pitch and propose Emdee's offerings to departments, PSUs, and nodal agencies, and develop new business across existing and new accounts.• Engage clients early to understand requirements and position Emdee ahead of formal procurement.• Qualify tenders, RFPs, EOIs, and GeM bids, and give a clear technical go/no-go view on fit and eligibility.• Deliver presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concept to client technical teams, consultants, and evaluation committees.• Prepare technical proposals, solution write-ups, compliance matrices, and architecture or topology drawings, and propose alternates against restrictive specifications.• Work with OEMs and technology partners on product fitment, specification confirmation, MAF, and budgetary pricing.• Draft pre-bid queries and handle technical clarifications through evaluation.

Design and BOQ

• Plan and conduct site surveys and requirement studies, and design solutions from survey data, drawings, and client requirements. This covers topology, device placement, integrations, and sizing of compute, storage, and bandwidth.• Build technical BOQs with make and model, quantities across sites, licences, accessories, and installation and service lines, so that every offer is compliant and commercially competitive.• Hand over won projects to delivery with clear scope, assumptions, exclusions, and risks.

Project Execution

• Oversee deployments against the approved design and BOQ, and flag variances before execution commits.• Take charge of complex installations and commissioning.• Support acceptance testing, handover, and as-built documentation to a standard that stands up to departmental inspection.

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 8 years at a system integrator, IT OEM, or government-focused IT company. At least 2 of those years should be in presales, technical sales, or solutions consulting for government or PSU clients.• Strong domain knowledge in one of two areas: IT infrastructure and hardware (networking, surveillance, compute, storage, power, AV), or AI and software solutions. Working exposure to the other is expected.• Proven experience responding to government tenders, including technical compliance, proposals, and presentations to evaluation committees.• Experience designing multi-site or multi-module solutions and building BOQs from surveys, drawings, or requirement documents.• Familiarity with OEM and technology partner ecosystems relevant to your domain.• Commercial awareness of costing, pricing, and margins.• Strong written and spoken communication with technical and non-technical audiences.• Degree or Diploma in CSE, IT, Electronics, Electrical, or a related discipline.• Based in Kolkata or willing to relocate, with frequent travel to client sites and government offices.

Good to Have

• Familiarity with GeM, state e-procurement portals, and government procurement rules.• Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, cloud, or equivalent).• Experience supervising field engineers and vendors on site.
