Role & Responsibilities:

• Low-Latency API Benchmarking: Design and execute performance tests for low-latency APIs, focusing on minimizing Tick-to-Trade latency. You will analyze and optimize the critical path of order entry and execution to ensure deterministic response times.
• Exchange-Specific Protocol Testing: Perform deep-dive performance analysis on exchange-specific connectivity and protocols, including specialized binary protocols.
• Order Flow & Trade Volume Simulation: Architect and implement load-testing scenarios that simulate realistic burst conditions (e.g., market open/close) to evaluate how the matching engine handles massive spikes in order placement, modifications, and cancellations.
• RTPM & Compliance Validation: Implement and monitor Real-Time Performance Monitoring (RTPM) to ensure the exchange operates within mandated latency bounds. Validate that performance does not degrade under regulatory compliance checks or risk management filtering.
• Hardware & Network Bottleneck Analysis: Analyze the impact of network hops, kernel bypass, and hardware interrupts on trading latency. Identify bottlenecks in the network stack that contribute to jitter or tail latency (P99 and P99.9).
• Load & Stress Testing: Execute extreme stress tests to identify the breaking point of the trading facility, ensuring graceful degradation and rapid recovery in line with disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans.
• Performance Regression Testing: Integrate performance benchmarks into the CI/CD pipeline to detect latency regressions early in the development cycle, preventing inefficient code from reaching production.
• Resource Optimization: Analyze CPU profiling, memory allocation (GC pauses), and disk I/O to optimize the system for high-throughput, low-latency execution.
• Technical Reporting: Provide high-fidelity performance reports featuring latency histograms, heatmaps, and throughput curves to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Key Skills Following Key Skills are required:

• • Languages: Expert proficiency in Python (essential)
  • Performance Tooling: Expert proficiency incustom-built C++/Python load generators.
  • Exchange Protocols: Hands-on experience with FIX protocol, binary formats, and exchange-native interfaces.
  • Latency Analysis: Proficiency with tools for measuring microsecond latency (e.g., Wireshark, TCPDump, or hardware-based time-stamping).
  • OS Internals: Knowledge of Linux kernel tuning, CPU pinning, and memory management for low-latency applications.
  • Monitoring: Experience with real-time monitoring stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to track RTPM.
