Role Description The Pediatric Intensivist will provide specialized, evidence-based care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the pediatric intensive care units at Ovum Hospitals Hoskote and Bhattarahalli centers in Bengaluru East. This full-time, on-site role includes assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex pediatric medical conditions; coordinating multidisciplinary care with nursing, anesthesiology, pulmonology, and other specialty teams; and leading resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed. The Pediatric Intensivist will oversee ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced therapies, while ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient progress, updating treatment plans, communicating clearly with families, participating in clinical case discussions, and supporting training and mentoring of junior doctors and critical care nursing staff. The role also involves contributing to quality improvement initiatives and maintaining accurate medical documentation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in pediatric Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, with expertise in managing complex and multi-organ pediatric conditions.
• Relevant experience or exposure in Pulmonology, including respiratory failure management and ventilator care in children.
• Knowledge or collaboration experience in Anesthesiology, especially in perioperative care and sedation/analgesia for critically ill pediatric patients.
• Ability to work closely with Critical Care Nursing teams, ensuring high-quality bedside care, protocol adherence, and family-centered communication.
• Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics (MD/DNB) and fellowship or formal training in Pediatric Intensive Care or Pediatric Critical Care.
• DM/DrNB in Pediatric Intensive Care
• Current medical registration with relevant Indian medical councils and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated skills in emergency pediatric care, advanced life support (PALS or equivalent), and clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities, with a commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory, and patient-centered care.
• Willingness to participate in continuous professional development, clinical audits, and quality improvement activities.
