Job Title: Paint Shop Incharge (Transformer Radiators)

Job Summary

The Paint Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all painting and surface coating operations for transformer radiators. This includes ensuring high-quality finishes, adherence to safety and environmental standards, and efficient use of materials, manpower, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the paint shop, including surface preparation, priming, and final coating of transformer radiators
• Ensure coating processes meet required specifications (e.g., DFT, adhesion, corrosion resistance)
• Monitor and control painting parameters such as temperature, humidity, and curing conditions
• Plan and allocate manpower, ensuring optimal productivity and workflow
• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth operations
• Maintain inventory of paints, thinners, and consumables, minimizing wastage
• Implement and enforce safety practices, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE usage
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to emissions and waste disposal
• Troubleshoot coating defects such as peeling, blistering, or uneven finish
• Train and guide paint shop workers and technicians
• Maintain records of production, quality checks, and maintenance activities
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
• 8+ years of experience in industrial painting, preferably in transformer or heavy fabrication industries
  
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of industrial coating systems (epoxy, PU, powder coating, etc.)
• Understanding of surface preparation techniques (shot blasting, sandblasting, phosphating)
• Familiarity with inspection tools (DFT gauge, adhesion tester, etc.)
• Leadership and team management skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Knowledge of safety and environmental standards
