Packaging Costing Executive / Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare detailed packaging cost sheets for new and existing products.

· Calculate packaging cost based on dimensions, weight, quantity, material consumption, and packing configuration.

· Prepare BOM and calculate material consumption and wastage.

· Develop costing for wooden boxes, corrugated boxes, pallets, crates, foam, plastic, stretch film, VCI, strapping, separators, and other packaging materials.

· Calculate cost per box, bundle, piece, kg, and shipment as required.

· Analyze and compare vendor quotations, specifications, transportation, taxes, and other commercial factors.

· Negotiate packaging material prices with suppliers and support vendor development. With purchase team/

· Maintain packaging material rate and vendor databases.

· Develop cost-effective packaging solutions without compromising product safety.

· Identify cost reduction opportunities through material, thickness, size, quantity, and packaging configuration optimization.

· Prepare vendor comparison statements, RFQs, cost reduction reports, and commercial proposals.

· Develop packaging costing for aluminium extrusion profiles, bundles, domestic shipments, and export shipments.

Required Skills

· Strong experience in Packaging Costing & Cost Analysis

· Excellent knowledge of Excel and cost calculation

· Knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes

· Vendor quotation analysis and commercial negotiation

· Cost reduction and value engineering

· Knowledge of wooden and corrugated packaging

· Good analytical and communication skills

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with experience in industrial packaging, aluminium extrusion, automotive, engineering, steel, or manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech / MBA / PG Diploma in Packaging, Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
