News Anchor / Host (Punjabi)

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site role for a News Anchor / Host (Punjabi) based in the Mohali district. The News Anchor / Host will present news segments in Punjabi, deliver live and recorded bulletins, and moderate discussions and interviews. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing scripts, coordinating with the editorial and production teams, and maintaining accurate and engaging on-air delivery. The role involves supporting reporting activities, participating in editorial meetings, and ensuring all content aligns with the organization's standards and ethical guidelines. The News Anchor / Host will also contribute ideas for new formats and programs, and represent the brand professionally in front of the camera and at select events.

Qualifications

• Strong news reporting and field reporting skills, with the ability to gather, verify, and present information clearly.
• Broadcasting and broadcast journalism experience, including familiarity with studio operations and live production environments.
• Proficiency in news writing and script development in Punjabi and English, with attention to accuracy and clarity.
• Presenter skills, including confident on-camera presence, clear diction, and the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Fluency in Punjabi (spoken and written) and strong command of English; additional regional language skills are an advantage.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with editorial and production teams.
• Prior experience as a news anchor, host, or reporter in television, digital news, or radio is preferred.
• A degree or diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment, adapt to changing stories, and maintain composure on air.
