About this role
Role & responsibilities
- Lead architecture for large, complex cloud managed services and transformation engagements covering multi-cloud strategy, target-state architecture, platform engineering, modernization, service transition, and operating-model improvement across Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle OCI Dedicated Region.
- Own end-to-end architecture for complex enterprise solutions, from requirements and architecture decisions through implementation governance, transition, and operational readiness.
- Design technology architectures for systems operating at scale, addressing availability, performance, scalability, security, recoverability, data residency, capacity, observability, automation, and cost efficiency.
- Define and govern multi-cloud landing zones, organizational structures, identity and access, network topology, connectivity, security controls, policy/guardrails, logging, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and shared platform services.
- Develop architecture artefacts including solution architecture, technology architecture, reference architecture, architecture decision records, non-functional requirements, interface specifications, high-level designs, deployment patterns, and implementation guardrails; contribute to low-level design where required.
- Architect DevOps and platform engineering capabilities including source control strategy, CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure as code, policy as code, secrets management, artifact/container registries, environment promotion, automated testing, release strategies, and deployment governance.
- Define cloud-native application and platform patterns covering Kubernetes and managed container platforms, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, serverless services, managed data platforms, and observability.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns and automation standards using technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, Google Cloud infrastructure tooling, OCI Terraform providers, Helm, Argo CD and/or Flux, together with native cloud services where appropriate.
- Architect hybrid and multi-cloud integration patterns, including connectivity between customer data centers, Azure, Google Cloud, and OCI Dedicated Region / DRCC, with clear consideration for latency, routing, segmentation, sovereignty, resilience, and operational boundaries.
- Define resilience and disaster recovery architectures, including workload placement, availability zones/fault domains, replication, backup, recovery patterns, RTO/RPO alignment, failover/failback, and architecture validation through testing.
- Perform architecture and cloud assessments for greenfield, brownfield, migration, modernization, consolidation, and platform transformation initiatives, identifying gaps, risks, dependencies, and target-state recommendations.
- Lead customer discovery sessions, executive workshops, architecture reviews, technical deep dives, and governance forums. Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders, align competing business and technical priorities, communicate complex options in clear business terms, and provide decisive recommendations on roadmaps, target states, risks, dependencies, investment choices, and delivery trade-offs.
- Collaborate with solution architects and domain specialists across cybersecurity, networking, data, applications, integration, and operations to ensure end-to-end consistency and adherence to enterprise architecture standards.
- Provide visible architecture leadership throughout implementation and service transition, directing multidisciplinary teams and resolving escalated design decisions while maintaining accountability for alignment with the approved target state, non-functional requirements, engineering standards, service-management controls, and operational readiness criteria.
- Work with engineering teams to resolve complex architecture and implementation issues and to improve standardization, automation, repeatability, and deployment quality.
- Develop technical and operational documentation, sizing and capacity assumptions, bill-of-material inputs, cost estimates, and architecture inputs required for proposals and implementation planning.
- Support pre-sales activities including discovery, architecture development, customer presentations, solution demonstrations, technical responses, and proposal development.
Maintain current knowledge of Azure, Google Cloud, OCI Dedicated Region / DRCC, cloud-native technologies, DevOps/platform engineering practices, and relevant architecture frameworks and patterns.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional architecture certifications across the target cloud platforms are strongly preferred, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional. TOGAF or equivalent enterprise/technology architecture certification is an advantage.
Relevant DevOps, Kubernetes, platform engineering, security, or infrastructure-as-code certifications are advantageous.
