Job Purpose: This role is responsible for conducting detailed analyses of plant equipment performance, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to drive operational excellence. This role will also manage equipment budgets, ensure the reliability of instruments, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven root cause analysis and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manager - MTPOE (Planing)

Short-Term Planning

• Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance plans in coordination with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams.
• Prioritize work orders based on plant criticality, operational requirements, and resource availability.
• Monitor plan adherence and ensure timely closure of scheduled activities.
• Review plant performance and identify maintenance interventions required to improve equipment reliability.
• Coordinate execution schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  
  

Long-Term Planning

• Develop annual maintenance and overhaul plans for plant equipment and systems.
• Prepare resource forecasts, manpower requirements, and maintenance budgets.
• Analyze equipment history and predictive maintenance data to optimize maintenance strategies.
• Support long-term asset reliability and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Ensure maintenance plans are aligned with generation targets and statutory requirements.
  
  

Shutdown / Outage Planning

• Prepare detailed shutdown schedules for unit overhauls, planned outages, and major maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies for shutdown execution.
• Identify critical path activities and develop mitigation plans for schedule risks.
• Monitor outage progress and ensure adherence to timelines, quality, and safety standards.
• Conduct post-shutdown reviews and capture lessons learned for future improvements.
  
  

SAP Planning & Maintenance Management

• Manage maintenance planning activities through SAP PM module.
• Create, review, and monitor work orders, maintenance notifications, task lists, and maintenance plans.
• Ensure timely closure of work orders and accurate maintenance history recording in SAP.
• Monitor spares availability and coordinate with Stores and Procurement teams.
• Generate and analyze SAP reports for maintenance effectiveness, backlog management, and KPI tracking.
• Drive SAP data accuracy and process compliance across maintenance functions.
  
  

Coordination & Reporting

• Collaborate with Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Stores, and Contracts teams for seamless maintenance execution.
• Prepare MIS reports, maintenance dashboards, outage reports, and management presentations.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability, forced outage, maintenance compliance, and backlog status.
• Support reliability improvement initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Additional certification in Maintenance Planning, Reliability Engineering, or SAP PM shall be preferred.
  
  

Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in O&M/Maintenance Planning of Coal-Based Thermal Power Plants.
• Hands-on experience in short-term planning, long-term maintenance planning, shutdown management, and SAP PM.
• Experience in planning and execution of unit overhauls and major outages.
  
  

Preferred Industry

Experience in the petrochemical, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector is preferred.
