About this role
Job Summary:
We are looking for a legal professional with up to 4 years of post-qualification experience to join our dynamic in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial contracting and corporate advisory, preferably within the SaaS or technology sector, and will be comfortable negotiating both on Beroe s own paper and on customer paper with global enterprise clients. The role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, reviewing customer procurement terms against Beroe s standard positions, supporting business teams on legal risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, NDAs, SaaS/subscription agreements, order forms, statements of work, vendor contracts, and partnership/reseller agreements, as well as customer-issued procurement paper such as general terms and conditions, purchase order terms and service orders.
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including intake, review, approval, execution, renewals, and amendments.
- Provide legal advisory support to internal stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Procurement, HR, Product, and Operations) to facilitate business objectives.
- Maintain and improve the contract repository and version control systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility, including tracking negotiation positions across redline rounds and recording decisions and approved deviations for future reference.
- Enhance and maintain contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and clause libraries for process standardization.
- Identify and proactively mitigate legal, commercial, and compliance risks, offering practical business solutions.
- Support data protection, IP, SaaS, and emerging AI/ML compliance initiatives, including AI/ML output disclaimers, client data and aggregated/benchmarking data-use rights, and information security commitments made to customers.
- Review and respond to customer supplier-onboarding and compliance requirements, including integrity/anti-bribery provisions, sanctions and export-control clauses, supplier codes of conduct and information security requirements, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
- Utilize CLM, CRM, and ERP systems to streamline contract workflows and approvals.
- Liaise with external counsel for specialized legal matters, when required.
- Contribute to improving contract review processes and share knowledge with team members, where appropriate.
Qualifications Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in law (LL.B. or equivalent) from a reputed institution; must be enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- Up to 4 years of PQE in corporate/commercial law; experience in the SaaS or technology domain is preferred.
- Strong command of contract drafting, redlining, and negotiation, with the ability to manage multiple contracts independently, including confident use of MS Word tracked changes and comments on multi-party redlines.
- Working knowledge of contract management (CLM) and CRM systems such as Salesforce or SAP.
- Good understanding of contract law, data privacy, IP, and regulatory compliance frameworks, and of key risk-allocation provisions such as limitation of liability, indemnities, IP ownership and licensing, confidentiality, termination, and governing law and dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted legal review tools, with the judgement to verify and quality-check their output.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior in-house legal experience in a SaaS or global technology organization.
- Exposure to international contracting practices (e.g., U.S., UK, EU/Switzerland, Australia and other APAC jurisdictions).
- Experience negotiating with the procurement and legal teams of large multinational, public-sector or regulated-industry customers.
- Experience contributing to process automation, playbook design, or CLM system enhancements.
