Lab In-Charge Railway Foundry

About the Role

LOCO CASTINGS PRIVATE LIMITED is looking for an experienced Lab In-Charge to manage and oversee laboratory operations at our railway foundry facility.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in railway foundry, cast steel manufacturing, metallurgical testing and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day laboratory operations.

Supervise metallurgical and mechanical testing activities.

Conduct and monitor testing of raw materials, molten metal, castings and finished components.

Monitor chemical composition and material properties as per applicable specifications.

Supervise laboratory technicians and testing activities.

Maintain laboratory records, test reports and documentation.

Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Investigate testing deviations and support corrective actions.

Coordinate with Production, Quality, Foundry and Heat Treatment teams.

Ensure compliance with applicable railway and quality requirements.

Support internal and external quality audits and inspections.

Maintain laboratory safety, housekeeping and standard operating procedures.

Contribute to continuous improvement in testing accuracy and quality control.

Candidate Requirements

Relevant experience in Railway Foundry / Cast Steel / Heavy Engineering is essential.

Hands-on experience in a foundry quality or testing laboratory.

Strong understanding of metallurgical and mechanical testing.

Experience handling laboratory equipment and quality documentation.

Ability to lead laboratory personnel and coordinate with multiple departments.

Knowledge of railway casting quality requirements will be an advantage.

Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in railway bogie manufacturing, cast steel foundries, metallurgical laboratories or heavy engineering quality laboratories are encouraged to apply.
