ROLE OVERVIEW

Caresmith is seeking a Video Editor to support high-volume creative production across paid media, social, and marketplace channels. The role operates within a fast-paced direct-to-consumer environment, requiring consistent output under short turnaround times and frequent iteration based on campaign performance feedback.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing multiple ad creatives and variants each week, working from creative briefs and AV scripts provided by the performance marketing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Edit raw footage — including UGC, influencer, studio, and product shoots — into campaign-ready videos for Meta platforms (Instagram Reels, Feed, Stories) and marketplace listings (Amazon, Flipkart).
• Deliver first cuts within a 24–48 hour turnaround window from receipt of footage.
• Produce multiple variants of a single script, including alternate hooks, opening sequences, and durations (15s / 30s / 45s), to support A/B testing.
• Incorporate subtitles, text overlays, transitions, sound design, and graphics, with particular attention to sound-off viewing conditions.
• Work from AV scripts and creative briefs, interpreting shot-level direction accurately.
• Maintain fast, disciplined pacing appropriate to short-form performance creative.
• Resize and reformat master edits across 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5 aspect ratios efficiently.
• Coordinate closely with the performance marketing and creative teams, and action revisions within the same working day where required.
• Maintain organized footage libraries, project files, exports, and version control to enable rapid re-cuts and asset retrieval.

REQUIREMENTS

• 1–3 years of professional video editing experience, preferably within a D2C brand, performance marketing agency, or content studio.
• Demonstrated experience editing short-form content for social media and paid advertising; links to live work are preferred over showreels alone.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, or equivalent software.
• Working knowledge of AI tools for video generation, upscaling, subtitling, or asset creation.
• Sound understanding of motion graphics, colour correction, and audio editing.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet daily deadlines without compromising output quality.
• Comfortable operating in an environment with shifting priorities, same-day briefs, and short iteration cycles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with creative performance metrics (hook rate, retention, click-through rate) and how editing decisions influence them.
• Experience editing UGC and influencer footage in a native, non-advertorial style.
• Experience producing marketplace and product listing explainer videos.
• Basic animation or motion graphics capability.
