Job Summary

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Interior Designer to join our design team at Houzlook. The candidate will be responsible for understanding client requirements, developing innovative interior design concepts, preparing detailed drawings and 3D visualisations, and coordinating with sales, production, and execution teams to ensure projects are delivered as per approved designs, quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Client Consultation & Requirement Analysis

• Understand client preferences, lifestyle requirements, functional needs, and budget.
• Conduct design discussions and present suitable interior design concepts.
• Incorporate client feedback and ensure timely design approvals.
• Maintain professional communication and provide regular project updates to clients.

2. Interior Design & Space Planning

• Develop creative and functional interior design concepts for residential spaces.
• Prepare space planning, furniture layouts, ceiling designs, lighting plans, and material selections.
• Create detailed designs for modular kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, storage units, and other interior elements.
• Ensure effective space utilisation while maintaining design aesthetics and functionality.

3. Drawings & 3D Visualisation

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, working drawings, and technical drawings.
• Develop 3D models and realistic renders to help clients visualise the proposed designs.
• Prepare furniture layouts, elevations, sections, electrical layouts, and other drawings required for execution.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, updated, and aligned with approved designs and site conditions.

4. Material Selection & Design Specifications

• Recommend suitable materials, finishes, laminates, veneers, hardware, lighting, and accessories.
• Prepare material specifications and maintain design documentation.
• Ensure materials selected are aligned with the approved budget, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate material changes and obtain necessary approvals before implementation.

5. Site Coordination & Execution Support

• Coordinate with site execution teams to ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings.
• Conduct site visits and verify measurements, dimensions, and site conditions.
• Identify design discrepancies, technical issues, and execution challenges, and suggest practical solutions.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and execution teams to ensure smooth project progress.
• Address design-related queries and provide timely clarifications to avoid project delays.

6. Production Coordination

• Prepare and share accurate drawings, dimensions, specifications, and cutting details required for production.
• Coordinate with the production team for modular furniture and custom-designed units.
• Verify design feasibility, material requirements, and technical specifications before production.
• Ensure approved designs and measurements are followed during manufacturing and installation.

7. Project Management & Timely Delivery

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure design deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
• Track project progress, pending approvals, revisions, and execution requirements.
• Provide regular updates to the reporting manager and concerned teams.
• Escalate project risks, delays, and client concerns proactively.

8. Quality Control & Client Satisfaction

• Ensure design accuracy and adherence to approved specifications.
• Monitor execution quality and identify deviations from approved drawings.
• Coordinate the resolution of design-related issues and client feedback.
• Maintain professional client relationships and contribute to a positive overall customer experience.

9. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project files, drawings, design presentations, material specifications, and approval records.
• Ensure the latest approved drawings are shared with the relevant teams.
• Maintain proper records of design revisions, client approvals, and project updates.
• Follow company processes, reporting structures, and project documentation standards.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in residential interior design, preferably in turnkey interior projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Enscape, or other relevant design and rendering software.
• Strong understanding of space planning, modular furniture, materials, finishes, lighting, and interior execution.
• Knowledge of working drawings, site measurements, technical detailing, and production requirements.
• Excellent communication, presentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail and ownership of assigned projects.
